Here are some top Girls U17 performers observed during the Disney Presidents' Day event: Forwards Allison Friedholm, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), is athletic and covers ground quickly during attacks. She has good speed to get behind defenders with wide, attacking runs. Plays as a false 9 and has average footwork when 1v1 defending against a defender in the offensive third. Kyleigh Coleman, North Lakeland United (Fla.), attacking forward/middy who uses good footwork to threaten goal or create passing options. A playmaker with good control but will also defend. Midfielders Mallary Kretschmer, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), two-way ability who can play as a 6 or 8. Is athletic with good size and will play box to box. Shows to be more defensive-minded but will push the ball forward up to the wings for a counterattack. Shows nice control and patience when under pressure. Lindsay Allen, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), Holding mid that has good control and vision to distribute the ball accurately to a teammate. Reads the game well and will create space to run an attack. Katerina Ontko, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), has a good 1st touch and turns well with the ball to create space for an attack or to find an open teammate. Is attack-minded and takes on defenders well 1v1. Defenders Abygail Shannon, North Lakeland United (Fla.), MF/D, North Lakeland v. Canton SC Rouge: when playing as a RB, LB, or midfield, Abygail is a very attack-minded player. She will use her good speed to make great runs up the right and left sides to be an additional option on attacks. She has good ball control to create space and make a good pass to a teammate or produce a scoring chance. Haley O’Farrell, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), is an additional attacking option going forward. Has nice footwork 1v1 defending and tackles well. Brooke Jaskulka, Canton SC Gold (Mich.), athletic wing back who is an additional attacking option on counter attacks. Is a strong, aggressive defender that makes good tackles and has good control. Has good footwork 1v1 defending. Adelyn Lemmond, North Lakeland United (Fla.), shows good leadership and is a good technical player out of the back. Controls the ball well and has good patience when under pressure. Is an athletic presence in the back that will get up well for headers to clear the ball out of danger.
