In the west, Cosby is perfect on the season while James River Midlothian and Thomas Dale are in a battle for the second seed.

Kellam has only conceded two goals this season and has posted five clean sheets in a row. The Knights have quality wins against Jamestown, Grassfield, First Colonial, Grafton, and Ocean Lakes. Key remaining games include Princess Anne, Landstown, and Cox.
Landstown started off 5-0-0 but has suffered two setbacks versus ranked squads in Princess Anne and Smithfield (both 3-2 losses). Ranked opponents still on the schedule include Cox, Kellam, and First Colonial.
Ocean Lakes could be a sleeper pick as two of their three losses have come in extra time against Cox and Kellam.

Cosby is perfect on the year and has quality wins over Thomas Dale, James River Midlothian (two), and Midlothian.
The number two seed in the west is up for grabs between Thomas Dale and James River Midlothian with a key head to head matchup scheduled for May 5th.
Region 5A: The top eight teams qualify for the regional tournament. Seeding is up in air with a tight table and every team still has tough district competition to navigate in the final three weeks.

Hickory is currently at the top of the table but has a gauntlet to run before the end of the season. Indian River, Maury, Great Bridge, and Grassfield still remain on the Hawks schedule. Their best results this season include a draw against Princess Anne and clean sheet win over First Colonial.
Princess Anne’s only setback was an early season loss to Great Bridge and has wins over Maury, Cox, Landstown, and First Colonial. The Cavaliers have a favorable slate the rest of the year and should be in contention for the number one seed.
Currently sitting in third, Cox has only two losses which came against Princess Anne and Ocean Lakes (both 2-1 finals) but has Landstown, First Colonial, Kellam, and Kecoughtan to finish out the year. Quality wins for the Falcons include victories over Grassfield, Ocean Lakes, and Warhill.
Indian River has fared well so far this season but is lacking big wins versus ranked teams. A schedule that still includes matches versus ranked sides Hickory, Great Bridge, and Grassfield will set the tone for the post season.
First Colonial if flying under the radar in the fifth spot but is in prime position to make a late season charge. All three of the Patriots losses are to top five teams (Hickory, Kellam, and Princess Anne) and they drew against number two Great Bridge. Quality wins over Grassfield, Jamestown, and Deep Run leads me to believe they have a good shot at making a run to a state tournament berth.
