Five Goalies to Know From the Updated Texas 2029 Boys Rankings

<p>After some months, the Prep Soccer 2029 Texas Boys State Ranking was updated earlier this week, with new players being added to the prestigious list that features only the best of the best in the Lone Star State and the existing ones having their positions adjusted.</p>   <p>The ranking will continue to be consistently updated so it accurately reflects the progress achieved by players over time and presents a clear picture of the Texas landscape, always keeping in mind each prospect's potential to make an impact at the next level.</p>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/texas/rankings/boys/2029-rankings/">Texas 2029 Boys State Rankings</a></strong></li> </ul>   <p>The updated Texas 2029 Boys State Rankings now feature 140 players from every corner of the Lone Star State, and we're taking the week to present you with some of the most intriguing names that made the list. These goalkeepers are among them:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Martinez is the top-ranked goalkeeper in Texas and appears in fifth place overall in the updated Rankings. He's part of [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']' famed academy and has received multiple call-ups for both the US and Mexico at the youth level after standing out in the MLS Next League. Martinez has a very complete skill set and is one of the most complete and promising goalkeepers in the country. He complements his impressive length with solid reflexes and is also very mature with his game. Martinez is capable of making impressive stops between the posts, but can also handle prolonged periods of pressure, showing tremendous mental strength. He had an excellent first season with the [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] in the MLS Next League and raised his stock significantly in the last few months, earning a call-up for a USYNT ID camp late last year. He's very long, uses his arms extremely well to get to difficult shots and take up space from opponents 1v1, and is very solid in the air as well. Truby is excellent at stopping PKs, too, reading opponents well and exploding for the ball.</p>   <p><strong><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DU7P5UIkwhF/">Highlights</a></strong></p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Hartofelis appears in fifth place among the goalkeepers and ranks 38th overall in the Class of 2029 in Texas. He plays high school soccer for Reagan and represents [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] at the club level, having featured in the ECNL and the UPSL leagues already- he's also been in U.S. Soccer ID camps. Hartofelis is a goalkeeper of excellent instincts and stands out for his reliability between the posts. He's very athletic, getting to difficult shots in the corners, has solid reflexes and uses his legs very well in 1v1 plays. The goalkeeper is comfortable with his feet, too, and distributes the ball efficiently out of the back.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brooks was ranked as the seventh-best goalkeeper in Texas in the age group and is listed in 65th place overall in the Class of 2029. He represents Allen at the high school level and is part of the [program_tooltip program_id='283639' first='Dallas' last='Hornets'] team in the MLS Next League, having been in USYNT ID camps in the past. Equipped with long arms and excellent reflexes, Brooks is very difficult to score against, reacting quickly to close-range shots, using his length to get to shots in the corners and doing a great job of getting to the ball first when he leaves his spot. He spent the last club season with [program_tooltip program_id='283624' first='Capital' last='City SC'] in the MLS Next Academy Division and is moving to [program_tooltip program_id='349106' first='Sonny' last='G Academy'], which will compete in the Homegrown Division in 2026-2027. He stands out as a very reliable goalkeeper who does well with his positioning and is always ready to intervene and keep the ball out of the goal.
