Sammy Murphy, the leading scorer for nationally ranked North Oldham (Ky.), announced Wednesday that he has verbally committed to play for the University of Louisville.
Murphy has nine goals and six assists while leading North Oldham to a 10-0-1 record and a FAB 50 No. 28 ranking by PrepSoccer.net.
North Oldham is in the running to win the 8th Region along with being a top contender for the KHSAA boys soccer state title.
On the club side, Murphy plays for Louisville City U19 2003, and he’s also rostered to the academy league team at Lou City.
Louisville currently is ranked No. 14 with a 7-2 record.
