The inaugural NXT LVL Invitational had a soft opening Friday night with four matches.
Hoosac School (N.Y.) 1, Woodstock Academy (Conn.) 1: Lapo Romien gave Hoosac a 1-0 lead in the first half and Ricardo Mora evened the score for Woodstock with a second-half goal. Mora’s goal came a short time after Woodstock keeper Mikel Gonzalez delivered a game-changing save.
Erie Cathedral Prep (Pa.) 2, Immaculate Heart Central (N.Y.) 0: Cathedral Prep improved to 8-0-1 on the season with a Friday night victory. Chris Morphy scored in the first half and Luke Trocki iced the match with a second-half goal.
Pathfinder Academy (N.Y.) 2, Hoosac School-2 (N.Y.) 0: Jack Forbes and Marco Mazzarelli scored the goals as Pathfinder posted the victory in an intense match-up. Hoosac played mostly players who did not see action in the first match of the night.
Archbishop Moeller (Ohio) 5, New Hartford (N.Y.) 0: Belmont commit Brock Kiper Brock Kiper F Moeller | 2022 OH buried a first-half penalty kick to launch the scoring as Moeller ran away with an easy victory over previously undefeated New Hartford. Jonah Arszman, Casey Welage Casey Welage M Moeller | 2022 OH , Dom Breidenbach Dom Breidenbach D Moeller | 2022 OH , and Charlie Niehaus added goals for Moeller.
NXT LVL action resumes with 12 matches Saturday, highlighted by the following contests: Moeller vs. Pingry School (N.J.), Pathfinder vs. High Mowing (N,H.), Northwood School (N.Y.) vs. Phillips Exeter (N.H.), and Bridgton (Maine) vs. St. Andrew’s (R.I.).
