NXT LVL kicks off with powerhouse field of teams

One of the largest multi-state high school events since the pandemic is kicking off Friday near Albany, N.Y. The inaugural NXT LVL Invitational being held at Afrim’s Sports Park in Colonie, N.Y., features 39 programs from 11 states, highlighted by almost the entire Prep School Top 10 programs. The powerhouse field includes reigning Prep national champion South Kent School (Conn.), along with challengers Milton Academy (Mass.), Taft School (Conn.), Rivers School (Mass.), Williston Northampton (Mass.), Northwood School (N.Y.), Buckingham Browne and Nichols (Mass.), Hoosac (N.Y.) and Woodstock Academy (Conn.). Traditional high school programs including FAB 50 Top 10-ranked Pingry (N.J.), recent FAB 50-ranked Archbishop Moeller (Ohio), and up-and-coming Washington Catholic Athletic Conference challenger Good Counsel (Md.). The field also includes local power Shenendehowa (N.Y.), which is coming off an undefeated, COVID-shortened 2020 season. More than 75 college coaches have registered, including the likes of Georgetown, UCLA, Wake Forest, and several other Top 25-ranked programs.
