St. Xavier (Ky.) goalkeeper [player_tooltip player_id="11449" first="Clayton" last="Brooks"], a Class of 2022 prospect, announced on Monday that he has verbally committed to DePaul.
The 6-foot-4 Brooks had a solid career at St. Xavier under head coach Andy Schulten, which includes a shutout win over South Warren in 2020 for the KHSAA state soccer championship.
"I chose DePaul because it is a place where I can see myself grow as a player and a person," Brooks told PrepSoccer.net. "DePaul plays at really high level, as well as offers a great education and I really like the coaching staff."
This past season, St. Xavier reached the 7th Region title match. Brooks had seven complete-match shutouts and only allowed 11 goals as the Tigers went 17-6-3.
Brooks joins a DePaul 2022 recruiting class that includes forward [player_tooltip player_id="11176" first="Felipe" last="Corral"] from Illinois and defender [player_tooltip player_id="14837" first="Ethan" last="Gordon"] from Oklahoma.
DePaul is currently 6-6-1.
