FINAL: Marquette 1, Hudson 0
Senior Sean Dankert scored the lone goal of the match from senior Joey Sikorski’s assist as Marquette added yet another trophy to the case. Led by goalkeeper CJ Deslongchamps CJ Deslongchamps GK Marquette | 2023 WI and defender Sam Magner Sam Magner D Marquette | 2022 WI , the Hilltoppers did not concede a goal the entire postseason. Another stellar performance from Hudson keeper Lucas Biederman kept the team in the match, but it was Marquette’s defense, yet again, that got the job done.
SEMIFINAL REWIND
Marquette 3, De Pere 0: Junior Owen Marshall Owen Marshall M WI scored twice within a matter of minutes toward the end of the first half as Marquette put the match away early. Senior Nick Magner Nick Magner F Marquette | 2022 WI added the third goal. Despite the loss, De Pere goalkeeper Evan Engel was fantastic in net and kept his team in the match.
Hudson 1, Verona 0: Senior Noah Bekemeyer scored the game’s lone goal just minutes into the second half, and stellar defense down the stretch preserved the shutout. Senior Lucas Biederman made six saves for Hudson. For Verona, the loss was the first since the season opener in August.
