Sophia Barker F | 2024
CA
If one were to pick a starting lineup of girls high school players from the city of San Francisco, it would look like this. It would be a 4-3-3 formation, it would be underclassmen heavy with three juniors, two sophomores, and a freshman, to go along with five seniors and it would be private school dominant. Arianna Beddoes, Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep, Junior, Goalkeeper Beddoes is a very strong communicator, a great shot-stopper, and is very good with her feet as well. She plays San Francisco Elite and plays for the Wales Women U17 National team. Stella Etcheverry Stella Etcheverry D/M Saint Ignatius College Prep | 2023 CA , St. Ignatius, Junior, Left Back Etcheverry has been a key player for SI since she was a freshman, and can play all over the field. She's great with her left, foot, she is very competitive and is intimidating when she's running at players. She recently committed to UC Santa Barbara. Shannon Williamson Shannon Williamson F/M CA , St. Ignatius, Senior, Right Back Williamson is very technically proficient and is a very strong player. She is a standout with SI and also plays for Marin FC for the 2004 team.

Caroline Spencer, University, Senior, Center Back Spencer, an SF Elite player, is a standout player for UHS in the Bay Counties League, is one of those center backs who go unnoticed during a game, and that is meant in a flattering way. She wins headers in the air, is hard to get around in the back, and just goes out and does her job. Ava Couden, St. Ignatius, Freshman, Center Back She is a 2006 player, who plays on the 2005 SF Elite team. She is a fast player, a fantastic tackler, a great communicator who is great in the air and is very strong. She's very dangerous on set pieces as she is a threat to score a goal.

Kate Mazzucco, University, Senior, Midfielder Mazzucco is playing defensive midfield for UHS, and is a tenacious player who is a strong tackler. She has been an all-league player as a center back, who is always working to improve and compete and is now playing in the midfield. Grace Schneider, University, Senior, Midfielder Schneider is a classic box-to-box midfielder, who has shown quite the goal-scoring prowess, generally scoring those goals in big matches. She is a midfielder who has a big motor and is high-energy.

Mia Gale, St. Ignatius, Senior, Midfielder Gale is very technical and very creative, and is the kind of player who is the scorer of great goals. On her best days, she can be the most creative player on the pitch. Jasmine Leshnick Jasmine Leshnick Jasmine Leshnick F/M Lick-Wilmerding (CA) | 2023 State CA , Lick-Wilmerding, Junior, Wing Leshnick is what you are looking for in an attacking player. She is tall, fast, and tenacious. She is very technical as well, and with that pairing, she is one of the more highly rated players in all of Northern California. She is the kind of player who can win a game herself. She plays for the De Anza Force but is not playing for Lick-Wilmerding this season because she is playing in the ENCL showcase in Florida in January. Sophia Barker Sophia Barker F St. Ignatius (CA) | 2024 CA , St. Ignatius, Sophomore, Wing Barker is a hard worker with a very powerful shot who can score from the open field or on set pieces. She is a very feisty player who wants to make your day as hard as possible. She can play all over the field as well as she is very dynamic. Josephine Tunney Josephine Tunney Josephine Tunney F/D St. Ignatius (CA) | 2024 CA , St. Ignatius, Sophomore, Striker Tunney is one of the top underclassmen strikers in California. She is very tall, very strong, and very fast. She can play the target striker and holds up play very well. If you play a ball in the air in the box, she's likely going to win it and get off a strong header.
