The winter season has started in the Southeast, and the Southwest states of Arizona and California start play this week. Each week throughout December and January, we will add an additional 10 or more players to the PrepSoccer.net Winter All-America Watch List.
Here are the next 10 to start the season:
M [player_tooltip player_id="36867" first="Javier" last="Camargo"], Oceanside (Calif.), Sr., San Diego State
Oceanside recently started its season and the San Diego State commit already has shown he will be an impact player by scoring two of the team’s first three goals.
GK [player_tooltip player_id="16086" first="Elliott" last="Finley"], Rockwall-Heath (Texas), Jr., Oral Roberts
The 6-foot-5 keeper came up big in an upset of Allen in last year’s state semifinals, leading Rockwall-Heath to a surprising state runner-up finish. Finley is in the unique position of being a 2023 prospect already committed to an NCAA Division I program. At this point, very few high school-playing 2023s are committed.
F [player_tooltip player_id="36871" first="Wes" last="Hastings"], San Pasqual (Calif.), Sr., UC Riverside
Hastings scored six goals in his first seven games this season. He plays for the San Diego Loyal’s USL Academy team.
D [player_tooltip player_id="16535" first="Micah" last="Kelley"], Frisco Wakeland (Texas), Sr.
Kelley was a standout defender for Wakeland’s state title team last April, and he even scored a goal in the state final. He projects as one of the top defenders again in the DFW after being named to the Dallas Morning News All-Metro first team in 2021.
M [player_tooltip player_id="16249" first="Jack" last="Meyer"], Southlake Carroll (Texas), Sr., Army
Meyer was the district Co-Midfielder of the year in 2021. He recently committed to Army.
F/M [player_tooltip player_id="16348" first="Jorge" last="Morgado"], Kimball (Texas), Sr.
Morgado turned in a monster season in 2021, scoring 27 goals and assisting on 22 others. He was named the district MVP.
M [player_tooltip player_id="8244" first="Mateo" last="Pacelli"], Torrey Pines (Calif.), Sr., Bowdoin
Pacelli is an attacking mid who is capable of scoring goals. In fact, he netted the first goal in a 2-09 win earlier this week over Cathedral Catholic.
F [player_tooltip player_id="16046" first="Diego" last="Pepi"], Frisco (Texas), Jr.
Pepi, the younger brother of FC Dallas forward Ricardo Pepi, scored 25 goals last year en route to a district co-MVP showing. He also picked up Dallas Morning News first-team honors.
M [player_tooltip player_id="9814" first="Dominick" last="Phanco"], J.W. Mitchell (Fla.), Sr., UC Santa Barbara
Phanco has scored at least one goal in every match except one as Mitchell is off to a 9-1-1 start this season. The UC Santa Barbara commit has factored in every match, either with a goal or an assist.
M [player_tooltip player_id="8306" first="Michael" last="Sherlock"], Torrey Pines (Calif.), Sr., Washington
The University of Washington commit made his debut for Torrey Pines this week after finishing up club commitments. He will play the No. 6 for this nationally ranked high school team.
