Winter FAB 50: Servite, Flower Mound remain No. 1
In this article:
While the jockeying throughout the FAB 50 rankings continues, the top spots are holding steady.
Of course, that’s helped by the fact most of the Texas schools are sitting at 0-0.
Servite (Calif.) remains the No. 1 boys team after winning a pair of matches last week. Flower Mound (Texas) stays No. 1 in the girls rankings, and will remain in that spot until at least early January when it starts regular-season play.
The big movers this week Alisal (Calif.) boys and Bartram Trail (Fla.) girls.
Alisal jumped from No. 30 to No. 13 power by a tie with current No. 12 Bellarmine College Prep (Calif.). In the early going, it’s only fair to leave these teams ranked side-by-side was the teams move deeper into the season.
Bartram Trail was at No. 8 but advanced to No. 5 this week. While the number of spots is not a major jump, it’s the location that matters. All four teams ranked in front of Bartram Trail are either in the same Texas playoff classification or will be competing at the National Elite Prep Soccer in Texas, meaning there will be some losses taken by those highly ranked squads. Sitting at No. 5 and nearly halfway finished with its regular season, Bartram Trail is poised for a possible run at No. 1 as long as it stays perfect.
