Regional Rankings: NW Rankin in position for a sweep

Northwest Rankin (Miss.) has a chance to pull off a rare boys-girls regional No. 1 sweep this week. While Northwest Rankin boys have been No. 1 in the Southeast since the preseason, the girls team upset former No. 1 Gulfport (Miss.) to inherit the top spot this week. Both teams are two wins away from state titles, and with that, secure final region No. 1 rankings. While the action was otherwise calm in girls soccer, there are two new No. 1s in regional boys this week. Monte Vista (Calif.) returns to the top ranking in the California-North boys rankings, swapping spots with Alisal (Calif.). Seven Lakes (Texas), powered by a perfect 9-0 start, moves to the top of the Texas-South rankings, just ahead of Alief Elsik (Texas.). Check out the regional rankings below.
