Girls ECNL Texas: Day 1 Top Performers from the Ohio Valley

Cool weather and monsoon-like conditions did not prevent these Ohio Valley Conference players from standing out in Texas.
M [player_tooltip player_id="26288" first="Rebekah" last="Allen"] (Tennessee Soccer Club 07) was a constant threat in the attacking midfield vs Tulsa SC. Her free kick goal early in the game set the tone.
D [player_tooltip player_id="26209" first="Caroline" last="Betts"] (Tennessee Soccer Club 03/04) showed that she can do more than just defend. Betts had a goal and an assist in the 4-1 victory over Utah Avalanche.
F [player_tooltip player_id="26272" first="Mamie" last="Carman"] (Tennessee Soccer Club 07) caused mayhem in the Tulsa SC defense with her ability to isolate players 1v1 and beat them.
F [player_tooltip player_id="26204" first="Avery" last="Clark"] (Tennessee Soccer Club 03/04) stayed busy throughout the game vs the Utah Avalanche. She finished the game with a goal and an assist.
F [player_tooltip player_id="33447" first="Kathleen" last="Collins"] (Tennessee Soccer Club 05) continuously created scoring chances against Sting Austin. She scored TSC's lone goal in a 1-1 tie.
F [player_tooltip player_id="26014" first="Tessa" last="Dellarose"] (Pittsburg Riverhounds 03/04) had her hand in all the scoring for the Riverhounds. Her two goals and one assist helped lead her team to a 3-1 victory over Sting Austin.
GK Virginia Green (Tennessee Soccer Club 08) was solid between the pipes. She made two penalty kick saves to help preserve the tie vs AHFC.
M [player_tooltip player_id="22353" first="Lucia" last="Johnson"] (FC Pride 05) was crafty in the midfield for FC Pride. Her pass over the top to [player_tooltip player_id="22273" first="Carly" last="Gilbert"] led to a beautiful goal that made the score 2-0 over NCFC.
D Natalie Mathews, [player_tooltip player_id="26008" first="Sydney" last="Lindeman"], and [player_tooltip player_id="25806" first="Gwenyth" last="Howell"] (Pittsburg Riverhounds 03/04) anchored a strong defensive effort as the only goal scored by Sting Austin was a PK.
D [player_tooltip player_id="22255" first="Anna" last="Spellacy"] (FC Pride 05) her play at center back was solid throughout the entire weekend. A well placed free kick taken by Spellacy led to a goal by [player_tooltip player_id="22268" first="Avery" last="Ledo"] as FC Pride defeated NCFC 2-0.
D Reese Vanhooser (Tennessee Soccer Club 08) directed the defense from the center back position. Her solid performance helped preserve the clean sheet against AHFC.
D [player_tooltip player_id="22290" first="Ella" last="Wolf"] (Indiana Fire 03/04) anchored a shorthanded defense for the Fire. She stepped up and showed incredible leadership making play after play in a 4-1 victory over Gretna Elite.
