Two teams with lofty preseason expectations delivered on Saturday.

Servite (Calif.) boys, which spent time at FAB 50 No. 1, capped a stellar season with a 2-1 overtime victory over San Pasqual in the SoCal Division I final. Daniel Gutierrez scored the game-winning goal as the Anaheim-based private school power secured its first regional title, the SoCal No. 1, and overall state No. 1 ranking. Kevin Sanchez netted Servite’s first goal and both Servite goals were assisted by UC Santa Barbara commit Eduardo Villeda, which gave him a school record of 23 assists this season.

Camryn Vehlow scored twice and picked up one assist as Temecula Valley girls rolled to a 4-1 win over San Marcos in the SoCal Division I final. The win secured the region and state No. 1 ranking for the Golden Bears, which won their last 21 matches of the season.

The NorCal boys bracket played out close to as expected as Whitney edged Watsonville in the NorCal Division I final. The teams entered the match ranked 1 and 2 in the PrepSoccer.com NorCal rankings. Meanwhile, Oak Ridge girls capped a memorable season with a shootout win over Buchanan in the NorCal Division I final. The result secured an undefeated season and the NorCal top ranking for Oak Ridge, which emerged from a section long dominated by Davis.
