The third round of the Windy City Ram Classic is in the books. Here’s a brief recap at what happened and a preview of the semifinals and finals.
<strong>Andrew 5, Hinsdale South 1</strong>
The T-Bolts are rolling. Illinois State commit Leah Crotty broke out with a hat trick. Sophomore Taylor London and junior Mary O’Boyle each scored and assisted. Katherine Watzke and Abby Bosco picked up assists. Andrew has outscored opponents 15-1 so far.
<strong>Glenbrook South 1, Lincoln-Way West 0 (OT)</strong>
Defense dominated. Sophomore Claire Baim found the open net in overtime with junior [player_tooltip player_id="22171" first="Meghan" last="Noe"] assisting. Bella Chryst and Linsdey Mack split time in goal and were both fantastic.
<strong>Lincoln-Way East 2, Morton 1</strong>
The Griffins pull out their third win in a row. Bre Herlihy and Kara Waishwell scored. Assists came from Shae Eghert and Mia Hendrick.
<strong>Lincoln-Way Central 1, Glenbard East 0</strong>
Lincoln-Way Central took down Glenbard East 1-0 in the fourth quarterfinal.
The semifinals will feature three programs from the southwest suburbs. The games will take place Tuesday at Reavis High School. Lincoln-Way East will face Andrew at 4:30 p.m. That game will be followed by Lincoln-Way Central vs. Glenbrook South. The winners will face off Thursday for the championship at Reavis.
In the consolation brackets, De La Salle edged Riverside-Brookfield 2-0 behind freshman Kennedi Carpenter's two goals. Lockport routed Tinley Park 7-0, Homewood-Flossmor beat Providence 3-0, Joliet West took town their neighborhood rivals, Joliet Central 7-0, and Lemont and Leyden each won 5-0. Most teams will play Tuesday.
