👀 Scouted: San Diego Surf/Legends FC U13
Legends won the tournament in the U13 age bracket over fellow Southern California side San Diego Surf. There were MLS scouts from a number of clubs in attendance for the Surf and Legends games during the quarterfinal round of the competition. Surf has provided top talent to a number of MLS academies as the club’s recent development success in clearly on display at the Generation Adidas Cup. Max Steelman was a standout for Surf throughout the tournament. Eli Cook and Diego Nolazco scored the goals for Legends in the final. Both teams will have MLS clubs calling about their players after the event.
📖 History Makers: LV Pros U16/La Roca FC 03/04 ECNL
Las Vegas Pros made history as the first team from Nevada to win a Dallas Cup championship. Victor Garcia scored the game-winner against FC Dallas in the championship game. The local team was the defending champions in the age group. Caedon Cox also scored for Pros in the title game. He was the key player in the attack during the week with clutch goals in the group play games and knock-out round games. Luke Parker had the assist on Cox’s goal. Francisco Duran-Andrade was a standout for LV Pros in Dallas Cup. He is a name to know for the future.
Braden Bennett Braden Bennett F UT scored twice against FC Dallas in the U19 final to lead La Roca to the championship, despite playing down a player for most of the game. La Roca is the first champion from the state of Utah.
🪄 Magic Time: Solar SC MLS Next U15
Solar SC rolled to the championship at Dallas Cup in the U15 age bracket. The local team had a stout defense with an exciting attack. Captain Caleb Swann Caleb Swann M State #24 Nation TX delivered an incredible assist for the game-winner in the title game.
🥳 Party Time: El Salvador National Team
El Salvador brought the energy to the sidelines and on the field to Dallas Cup. If El Salvador was playing, you knew it because the sidelines were electric. On the field, Gerson Perez’s squad delivered with some quality goals and promising play. El Salvador finished as runners-up at the event to Panama. Hopefully both squads will be back in the future to the competition.
🔥 Red Hot: DKSC U17
Jonathan Jaimes was one of the hottest names on the sideline at the event. The DKSC attacking midfielder ended up scoring nine goals while leading DKSC to the championship in the U17 age group.
⚡️ Quick Strike: Houston Legends U18
Scoring two goals in the championship game is going to raise some eyebrows, Legends forward Ryan Okerayi beat the Everton high-line defense twice to lead his squad to the championship. The 2023 attacking talent is likely going to be on the radar for a lot more college coaches after that performance.
