Ranking Analysis: UW lands top CB 

<p class="p1">[player_tooltip player_id="8747" first="Tyler" last="Bindon"], the left center back for LAFC U17, recently committed to Washington. Bindon is the type of defender that does well in the Washington system. He is a smart player who likes to compete. He was a key piece for LAFC during the Generation Adidas qualifiers in December. The LAFC defense only let in one goal in three games.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p class="p1">Bindon also showed off his aerial abilities with a goal off a corner kick as well. Bindon is a quality addition for the college level from the class of 2023, and the top player in the PrepSoccer player rankings for the class of 2023 for California.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p class="p1">Much of the class of 2023 is still undecided on their future plans. LAFC winger Alison Soukup has been a standout at the club level recently. He is one to watch for the future. He checks in at No. 2 on the list.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p class="p1">Stanford landed the commitment of [player_tooltip player_id="7497" first="Dylan" last="Groeneveld"], an outside back from San Diego. Groeneveld plays his club ball for Albion SC in MLS Next. He played for the Capelli Sport USA team at the Capelli Cup in Denmark over the summer. He also earned an appearance in the NPSL for ASC San Diego. He looks ready to compete at the college level.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p class="p1">[player_tooltip player_id="41551" first="Ethan" last="Kohler"] is another Stanford commit from California from the class of 2023. He is described as a center midfielder or a center back. His game projects better as a defensive midfielder for the Stanford system. He plays like a wily veteran. He is not going to impress with a highlight-reel play, but he makes winning plays, whether it is a tackle to stop an attack or a pass that opens up a playmaker into space. Kohler's play at the youth level earned him a spot on the Earthquakes II squad in the MLS Next Pro.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p class="p1">[player_tooltip player_id="41754" first="Jaylinn" last="Mitchell"] is a player on the rise recently. The Slammers ECNL forward was named to the ECNL all-conference team last season. He followed up that campaign with a place on the All-CIF first team this season.
