F Sofia Miranda, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Sr.
The senior had a strong outing this week, helping the Dashers draw with fellow state-power Brookfield Central and defeat Cedarburg. Miranda took responsibility for both goals against Brookfield Central last Tuesday. She scored and assisted as the game resulted in a 2-2 draw. On Friday, she picked up another goal in a 4-1 rout over Cedarburg. The St. Thomas (Minn.) commit is great at finding open spaces on the field. She plays with an excellent IQ and can dribble past defenders and goalkeepers for easy goals.
F Emily McCarthy Emily McCarthy F Kimberly (WI) | 2024 WI , Kimberly, So.
McCarthy has stayed hot to start her season. She’s scored in every game so far as the Papermakers begin the season 5-0. On Monday, she picked up her second hat-trick in two games at Fox Valley Lutheran. She scored another goal the next day against Hartford. Against DePere, she scored and assisted for both of the teams’ goals in a 2-0 win. Over the weekend, she scored two more goals and dished out an assist in a 5-0 win over Sheboygan North.
M Abby Lom, Kimberly, So.
Lom is a terrific attacking midfielder for Kimberly. She has excellent offensive and defensive awareness on the field and loves to create plays into open spaces. She plays crosses very well and communicates very well with her teammates. She scored two of the Papermakers’ three goals last Tuesday against Hartford. The day before, she assisted two goals. She also assisted against Sheboygan North this past weekend. Lom and McCarthy create a strong sophomore duo.
GK Lola Minic, Westosha Central, So.
The sophomore goalkeeper has played very well so far. Although a small-school product, Minic earned all-conference and all-region honors as a freshman last season. This year, she’s made 31 saves with three clean sheets. Her goals-against average is 0.77. Last week, she put on a show against Belvidere North (Ill.) where she made 10 saves while conceding only one goal. Later that day, she made six saves and held a clean sheet against Rosary (Ill.). Minic has lots of upside and looks to become an elite Wisconsin goalkeeper.
F Anna Sikorski Anna Sikorski M Muskego (WI) | 2024 #103 Nation WI , Muskego, So.
The sophomore phenom stays hot for Muskego. To begin the week, Sikorski recorded a hat trick against Waukesha North in a dominant win. But the Warriors picked up an incredible 1-0 victory over defending 2A champions Whitefish Bay. Whitefish Bay had gone 39-0-1 in their previous 40 games and hadn’t lost since April 2019. Sikorski scored the game’s lone in the 26th minute. Sikorski has 10 goals in just four games since her transfer from DSHA.
M Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett, Waukesha South, Sr.
Skinner-Barrett has been a goal-scoring machine as the Blackshirts start 3-0. The UW-Milwaukee commit scored 14 minutes in against Oconomowoc as her team would hold on for a 1-0 win. Saturday morning, the senior scored her second goal en route to a 2-0 win over New Berlin West. That afternoon, she scored a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids. Skinner-Barrett is great at filling lanes on crosses and through balls and can score in many ways. Plays great on defense too. A date with Muskego Tuesday night awaits.
