PrepSoccer Girls Academy Spring Showcase Monday Standouts
Cadence Carlson, Lonestar 06 – Slide tackle to win possession of the ball for her side, immediately gets to her feet and starts her run forward as her team swings possession to the weak side, gets on the end of a cross, and bangs it home. Cadence Carlson put that play on tape against one of the best teams in the country. She is a 2025 recruit so not quite on the radar for scouts yet, but one who is going to have a lot of invites to ID camps after this event. Carlson played as a wide midfielder with defensive responsibilities on Monday. Her qualities on the field translate perfectly to a wingback.
Danika Duncan Danika Duncan 5'4" | M Hill Country Christian (TX) | 2024 State TX , Lonestar 06 – Duncan has been one of my favorite players in the GA for some time. She is a 2024 recruit who I think is best at defensive midfield, but could be a great center back in the right program. The element of Duncan’s game that really impressed me on Monday is how she just knew what she was going to do before the ball even reached her feet every time. She has a remarkably quick processing amount for information, and great vision to pick out some of the passes.
Julia Oliveira, Cedar Stars Monmouth 06 – Oliveira buried a shot into the net against Sockers on Monday. She has a great right foot and no defense should allow her space inside of 30 yards on goal. She plays as a winger, but she is most dangerous when she can sneak inside and find pockets of space near the top of the box.
Isabella Wedemeyer, Skyline Elite 06 – Wedemeyer had the assist on the goal for Skyline in the draw against Indy Premier. She won possession of the ball and then played the pass for Phebe Ryan who scored the goal. Wedemeyer was an active forward who tracked back to help her team defensively. She showed good awareness on the field and was able to play with a defender on her back. Ryan was a bright spot in the midfield with her hustle and passing.
Addison Smith, Indy Premier 06 – Smith made a fantastic pass on the goal for Indy Premiere in the draw against Skyline Elite. She showed great vision and technical skill to pick out the run from Herald, who finished the chance, after a turnover from the Skyline defense opened up the defense. Smith’s quick-thinking identified the gap in the defense for the assist.
