Harrison boys, South County girls stay No. 1 in the FAB 50s
The girls spring soccer final FAB 50 No. 1 could come down to the final week of the high school season.
While most spring-playing states are finished, the overall final rankings won’t get sorted until the seasons in Michigan, Virginia, and Iowa are done, which is two weeks away. And with a Virginia team — South County (Va.) — currently at No. 1, it’s a wait-and-see situation for the girls top spot. No. 2 Liberty North (Mo.) is poised to inherit the top ranking should South County falter during the next two weeks of playoff action and Liberty North brings home a title this weekend. Westminster Schools (Ga.), last year’s FAB 50 spring national champion, is finished and sits at No. 3 with a chance to end up at No. 1.
The boys No. 1 was settled a few weeks ago with Harrison (Ga.) putting the finishing touches on a perfect season. State championships this past weekend in Tennessee and Washington helped reshape the ranking order from Nos. 10-50.
