Southern California is hotbed for soccer talent in the U.S. The area has been in the spotlight for the last month with the success of the players at the 2022 U17 Concacaf Championship. Valerie Vargas (Beach FC), Maribel Flores Maribel Flores F State #27 Nation CA (Slammers FC HB Koge), and Onyeka Gamero Onyeka Gamero F Whitney (CA) | 2024 State CA (Beach FC) are all multiple goal scorers at the event through the first four games. Vargas is second in the golden boot race at the regional championship tournament.
The next wave of talent from the region looks just as good and just as deep. Mia Harrison is the next in line among a talented bunch of siblings. Her oldest sister Nya plays for Stanford. Her older sister Ava is a member of the U.S. U15 Girls National Team.
Peyton Marinos Peyton Marinos F JSerra | 2026 State #38 Nation CA is a player to know from the roster. She is one of the best players at So Cal Blues. She is a forward who is capable of taking over the game at the youth level. She is one of the top talents in the country in this age group.
Audrey Heustis is a new name to the pool. She is following in the footsteps of Olivia Moultrie and the Thompson sisters in playing on a boys club soccer team. Heustis is also playing up some age groups for her club team. She is a center midfielder who has a good first touch and makes excellent decisions on the ball. She is a credit to the scouts in the area to get her into this environment.
Mia Corona is the lone player from the 2009 age group called up to play alongside the top 2008s. Corona has been playing for the Legends FC Boys 2008 ECNL team this season. She is part of the US Club Soccer id2 program. She is going to be one to watch for the future.
