As a soccer club, it just keeps getting better for the ever-growing and rapidly succeeding San Francisco Elite Academy. With what has been a great first half of 2022 for SFEA, the club received a feather in its cap recently when five boys were invited to the US Youth National Team talent ID camp. Of the five players, four of them play for the 2007 team while the fifth plays on the 2008 team. "We are very proud of these boys and we feel privileged to be chosen by their families to work with them," 2007 boys coach Sebastian Carrasco said. "They are not only good players, but they are also very educated, humble and competitive guys, which makes them even better athletes. All of them are very coachable and are always willing to work, improve and give their all for the team." [player_tooltip player_id="47904" first="Samir" last="Bouhamama"], Attacking Midfielder, Class of 2026 Bouhamama is an attacking midfielder who plays a year above his age, which has been the case for a few years now. He has a lot of technical ability and quality and always has an incredible attitude. On the pitch, he is very competitive. He is an aggressive player, but a positive influence on his teammates. His quality shows when the ball is at his feet as he is a great dribbler, who is always impacting the match. [player_tooltip player_id="47903" first="Matteo" last="Delmo"]nte, Holding Midfielder, Class of 2025 Delmonte is the captain of the 2007 boys team as he is a great leader on the pitch, and off of it. He sets the tone and is the example for his teammates. As a midfielder, he shows great vision and advanced understanding of the game as his ability to read the field is not easily found at his age. He has very good technical ability and intelligence when distributing. He is the mastermind of his team. [player_tooltip player_id="47902" first="Atticus" last="English"], Central Defender, Class of 2025 English is a very, very athletic player, and is very daring as a center back. He is oozing with talent and skills and is on his way to becoming a great defender because of his technical ability, his physical presence and because of the personal quality he brings to the team. [player_tooltip player_id="47901" first="Masayuki" last="Fujita"], Attacking Midfielder, Class of 2025 Fujita may be the most projectable player of the four 2007 kids. He has a great presence on the pitch, showing great technical quality along with a very good tactical vision as the match is being played. He is a versatile player who is very decisive. He has an excellent work rate and is a goal-scoring midfielder, making him a very key component. [player_tooltip player_id="47905" first="Misha" last="May"], Keeper, Class of 2026 May, the lone 2008 player of the five, is unique for his age as he does most of his work before shots happen. He gets off his line high up the pitch, in the box off crosses and closes angles in order to limit the number of opportunities he faces. He has strong hands as a shot stopper and is very good side-to-side when reacting. He’s such a good athlete that he would have made his club team as a No. 9 as well because he is very quick, has good instincts, is good 1v1 and can finish.
