The PrepSoccer player rankings only include players with amateur status. After players sign professional contracts, they are moved to the watch list. Luke Brennan Luke Brennan null | F State #24 Nation GA is the No. 1 player in the class. The teenager is a regular for the Atlanta United 2 team during this season with nine appearances as of the end of May. Brennan is a winger who is making the most of the opportunity to train and play against professional players.
Alan Carleton Alan Carleton M State #38 Nation GA is the No. 3 player from the class. Carleton, the younger brother of Andrew Carleton, is the top midfielder for the region. Carleton is a skillful player who is excellent in tight spaces. He operates as more of a central option compared to how his brother played. He is good with quick decisions on the ball and less likely to take players on in individual dribbles.
Joao Ramos Joao Ramos null | M State #45 Nation GA (highlights) is one of the more exciting players from the class. Ramos has been a standout for Altanta United’s youth teams during this club season. He is a dominant presence in the center of the field. He had some highlight-reel worthy performances during the GA Cup in Dallas in April. He could play as either a No. 6 or a No. 8 in the midfield. His game-awareness is one of his best attributes as he has a knack for knowing where the opposition will pressure him when on the ball and does well getting out of those situations with quick passing or taking a touch away from the defender. Ramos is a player to know for the summer playoffs.
Kell Enow Kell Enow 5'10" | F Harrison | 2023 State GA (highlights) is the top ranked player from outside of the Atlanta United academy. Enow is a name that most college scouts in the area should be familiar with from his play at the MLS Next level this season. Enow is a speedy right winger for Southern Soccer Academy. He is a one-move and go type of player. With an impressive burst, his change of pace can be a difference-maker at the next level. His long strides make him difficult to catch in the open field. He is a good finisher with his right foot. Enow looks like one of the top wingers from the state.
Jorge Sandoval Jorge Sandoval M Johnson | 2023 State GA is a star from the high school level. His play with Johnson High School has him considered among the best in the class of 2023. He is an attacking talent who can do it all. At the next level, he is probably best at an attacking midfield role. At the youth level, he can be a false 9 or play as a No. 10 in the right system. He is an easy talent to spot on the high school field as he usually takes over the game. He is dynamic with the ball at his feet as he can glide past defenders with ease. He is a great finisher from anywhere inside 30 yards on goal. Sandoval is a player that scouts will be lining up to see as he continues to dominate the Georgia soccer scene.
Kelly Cooper Kelly Cooper M Riverwood | 2023 State GA (highlights) is one the top center backs in the state. The NTH-NASA Boys ECNL standout is a commanding figure on the field. He is six-foot-five with remarkably good footwork. He has good recovery speed and reads the game well. He is a strong tackler and uses his body well to knock players off the ball. He anticipates well to step in front of attackers and intercept passes. The physical attributes will attract the interest of scouts, but the technical skills and tactical smarts are the reasons he is a top defender in the state in the class of 2023.
