Delaware splits its boys and girls soccer seasons so the focus in the First State has returned to the boys game. Here are some players to watch. If you want to let me know about players I missed, email me at matthew.r.ralph@gmail.com.

[player_tooltip player_id='33222' first='Miles' last='Hood'], Sr., Midfielder, Caravel Academy
I used to watch Miles play a lot more in his Philadelphia Union Academy days and back then I knew him more as a defender who was good with both feet and excellent in his timing and positioning. Playing for Caravel he's able to be even more influential in the offense but still has many of those same instincts in his game as someone who can beat you in multiple ways and places on the field. He's got a killer left foot too.

[player_tooltip player_id='15180' first='Jake' last='Ross']

[player_tooltip player_id='9520' first='Jordan' last='Illian'], Sr., Midfielder, Indian River
A crafty midfielder with pace and a good work rate, Illian is someone you want with the ball at his feet creating for his teammates or using space to create for himself.

[player_tooltip player_id='15180' first='Jake' last='Ross'], Sr., Forward, Salesianum
Ross returns for an encore in his senior season after winning player of the year last year. A big target with a nose for goal, Ross will lead the line for the team's most decorated team. While his size is an obvious feature of his game, Jake has a canon for a left foot and can finish with both feet if you give him any amount of time near the goal. He scored nearly two goals a game last season with 23 goals in 13 games for the state champions.

[player_tooltip player_id='9467' first='Alessio' last='Cristanetti-Walker'], Sr., Forward, Wilmington Friends
Alessio is a big, strong forward who plays well with his back to goal and can overpower center backs with his ability to fight off a pressure and turn in tight spaces.

[player_tooltip player_id='9554' first='Thomas' last='Hastings'], Sr., Defender, Appoquinimink
Hastings is an anchor for the Jaguars defense who is verbally committed to attend the University of Virginia next year. He's a calm and reliable presence on the back line for Appoquinimink.

[player_tooltip player_id='9553' first='Thaddeus' last='Glasser'], Sr., Caesar Rodney
A central midfielder with strength and technical ability to take on more than one defender at a time, Glasser is a handful to defend in addition to his ability to fill a stat sheet with goals and assists.

Thomas Vanni, Sr., Midfielder/Forward, Tower Hill
Vanni is dynamic in transition and rarely shies away from pulling out all the stops to create and goals, whether that's attempting a bike, chipping a keeper, hitting the ball with the outside of his foot or absorbing pressure and leaving defenders in his dust.

Some other names to know:

[player_tooltip player_id='9510' first='Jaden' last='Howard'], Sr., Goalkeeper, Middletown
[player_tooltip player_id='9530' first='Mason' last='Csapo'], So., Defender/Midfielder, Caravel Academy
[player_tooltip player_id='9518' first='Jonathan' last='Daniel'], Sr., Forward, MOT Charter
Vicente Lopez-Camacho, Sr., Forward, McKean
[player_tooltip player_id='9488' first='Declan' last='Kirby'], Sr., Midfielder/Forward, Delaware Military Academy
Brandon Lewis, Sr., Midfielder, Sanford School
[player_tooltip player_id='37609' first='Dan' last='Otlowski'], Jr., Defender, Saint Mark's
