Two of the top talents from the state have left for other opportunities. Malachi Molina, the FC Dallas Academy standout, is a Miami, Florida-native. He is part of the Texas player rankings for the class of 2025.
Axel Perez Axel Perez M FL , one of the top talents in the country, left the Inter Miami academy over a year ago. U.S. Soccer confirmed his move to Lyon, the French club, earlier this year. Perez is a key member of the U.S. Youth National Team program.
Even with top talent out of the state, Florida still has plenty of other prospects among the best in the country. Santiago Morales Santiago Morales M State #6 Nation FL , the son of Javier Morales, is the top player in the class. Morales was a key player for Inter Miami’s U15 squad last season, which won the MLS Next Cup in July in Texas. Morales was the MVP for that age group.
The depth of the talent pool extends way past just one or two academies in Florida. There are prospects of note in every level from MLS Next, Boys ECNL, US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, and high school. The depth of the player pool rivals any other state in the country in this class.
Zackory Campagnolo Zackory Campagnolo 6’4″ | GK FLVS | 2025 State #8 Nation CO is one of the best players in the country in this age group. He is the starting goalkeeper with the U.S. Youth National Team as scouts have been early in identifying his long-term potential in such an influential position. He has good size, technique, and mentality for the goalkeeping position. He is excellent with his distribution (right-foot dominant) and decision-making. His performance against Italy earlier this year was one for the record books. He showed all of the attributes that scouts look for from goalkeepers – confident off his line, quick-reaction saves, and command his box. This season is shaping up to be a big one for Campagnolo as he earns a role with an older team within his club. He will be one to watch in 2022 and beyond.
