Recruiting News: Sooners bring the Boom

Oklahoma led the way for the week for three verbal commitments from the class in the last week. Thomas is looking like one of the top players from the class of 2024 recently. She scored two goals and had two assists during the opening weekend of the club season. She added the game-winning goal last weekend. Thomas is a skillful player with determination. Her ability to get to low shots quickly was one of the main attributes that stood out from her highlight reel. She also stood out on tape for her ability to quickly react to rebounds and shut down second attempts. She has a lot of potential to develop into a top goalkeeper at the college level. She is a weapon in the attack - and probably could play with her back to the goal if needed, but she is at her best in a two-way No. 8 role. She reads the game well and offers a weapon with her ball striking from long-distance shots. She is good at 1v1 duels, and looks to be a left center back that could develop into an early starter at the college level, which makes no surprise as to why the top programs were interested in her verbal commitment. The intrigue comes from her landing spot. Rutgers, a powerhouse in college soccer, has a heavy reliance on players from New Jersey so it's rare to see the program prioritize an out-of-state player.
