San Francisco Elite Series: Boys Forwards

There are many great male athletes in the city of San Francisco, and this results in a number of excellent soccer players. In fact, too many to count. With all this athleticism, there is an abundance of great forwards playing soccer in the City proper, and many of them call San Francisco Elite their home. This is the beginning of PrepSoccer's San Francisco Elite Series, where many of the top players in San Francisco call home.   Jason Feng, Freshman, Lowell   Feng is a very attack-minded player. He has a nose for goal, and when he gets into the final third, he goes to goal. This doesn't mean he's a poacher, who doesn't work hard all over the pitch as his work rate is phenomenal. He can provide hold up play, can get in behind and provide a lot of goals. He is powerful, very efficient and effective who shows his value on both sides of the ball. He utilizes his athleticism and ability to read the game when he tracks back, pressuring opponents and forcing turnovers. Feng plays for the SF Elite 2008 team for club.   Harley Hernandez, Freshman, KIPP School   Hernandez, who plays for the SF Elite 2008 team, is a skillful and crafty winger who has shown the ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he hunts for the ball with smart positioning and an unrelenting work ethic. On the attack, Hernandez is dangerous when isolated on the wings. He can beat players on the dribble, whip in crosses with both feet, and cuts inside to score some great goals.    Juan Martinez, Freshman, Lincoln   Martinez, a 2007 player for SF Elite, is a very quick player with a great left foot. He is a hunter when he sniffs a goal, and when he gets a whiff of goal, he only needs a slight crack in order to create a chance. He's a great success story as well, starting on the third team and working his way up to the first team, playing in big tournaments like Surf Cup, the Dallas Cup and going to Spain for the Donosti Cup.   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2022/09/Diego-Pimentel-1024x789.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-58884" width="512" height="395"/><figcaption>Diego Pimentel </figcaption></figure>   Diego Pimentel, Sophomore, Lincoln   Pimentel, who plays for the 2007 SF Elite team, is what you would call a true attacker. He is very aggressive when it comes to going forward and he plays with a ferocity rarely seen. He fights and challenges for every ball, regardless of the size of the person he is going up against. He will challenge defenders for a ball, and will attack them with pace and tenacity.   Ramon Ramirez, Sophomore, Sacred Heart Cathedral   Ramirez, a 2007 SF Elite player, has made great strides over the last 18 months. For starters, he has grown quite a bit and gotten bigger and stronger and faster. He has become a force to be reckoned with as he combines skill with determination and a prowess for going for goal.   Luis Sanchez, Sophomore, Lincoln   Sanchez, another standout on the 2007 SF Elite team, has really come into his own in the last 12 months under the guidance of coach Sebastian Carrasco. He is finding his groove as a wide player and is displaying the ability to combine pace with skill and tenacity in order to make himself a threat going forward.   Jordy Servano, Junior, Mission   Servano first came to SF Elite after moving from El Salvador, and found himself playing center back on the second team. He was quickly identified as a player who could play forward for the first team, and now does so for the 2006 team. He is what you are looking for in an attackingn player. He is fast, strong and fights for every ball. He has determination to score on every chance he gets.   Jakobi Smith, Junior, International   You cannot teach speed, and Smith has speed in spades. The SF Elite 2006 player has speed to burn, and has the bloodlines as well as the grandson of former Olympic sprinter Tommie Smith. On top of his next level speed, he has worked hard on his technique and the improvement has been steady. He is an absolute lethal threat going forward.   Jazer Umanzor, Freshman, Lowell   Umanzor, who plays for the 2008 SF Elite team, is a special, special player. He's one of those creative attacking players that can operate in tight spaces, and create space for himself in those tight areas. He can get in behind defenders with his speed, can play with his back to goal and is great in 1v1 situations. He is fast and dynamic, capable of contributing in a number of ways.
