They are currently unbeaten and third in the table, and there is a reason this DVW 2010 team is doing so well.
“They play well as a team,” DVW Executive Director Jon Scoles said. “They play for each other, they have a great attitude, they all work hard and there has been buy-in from the players, the parents and the coaching staff.”
This team, led by Richard Wiseman, will look to stay undefeated this Sunday when they face Ballistic United at 4 p.m.
The team is very talented, on top of being a hard-working group, with five players really standing out recently.
Mudaser Ahmadi, Forward
Ahmadi is a very, very fast player who can play on either wing, but generally plays the No. 7. He’s very talented on the ball, and is a real playmaker. He’s very creative. It doesn’t end with talent for him as he is a player who never quits, never gives up and is a true competitor. He has a great attitude and work ethic.
Dakota Balagtas, Central Midfielder
Balagtas is what you look for from a central midfielder. He’s very smart, making good decisions and doing what is best to help the team win. He consistently puts himself in a position to succeed by finding himself in good spaces, allowing him to exploit what the other team is giving him.
Andy Castro, Keeper
Castro is a very big keeper, both tall and solidly built, and at this age group could be seen as an imposing figure between the posts. For a keeper his size, he is very athletic. He has good hands and quick reactions. He works hard, is really good with the ball at his feet and seems to be developing into a very special player.
Garrett Paik, Central Defender
Paik might seem like a smaller center back, but don’t tell him that. He is a spirited player who is a lockdown defender in defense. He is the organizer of the back line, a great communicator who really controls the defense and helps the defense stay locked in and focused.
Alex Saldivar, Outside Defender
Saldivar is an outside back, but not one that simply likes to bomb up the side. He is a very strong defender, not afraid to make a challenge and make life hard on attacking players. He is very physical, allowing him to match up with larger attacking players as well.
