The PrepSoccer Player of the Week poll is back. Last week, Oklahoma Energy’s Makala Johnson was named the Player of the Week after her standout performances in the ECNL. This week, there were a number of nominations for the award.
If you wish to nominate someone for the award, please submit nominations on social media prior to Tuesday. Vote in the poll at the bottom of the page.
Player of the Week Nominees (Oct. 11)
Caden Glover Caden Glover F MO , St. Louis City SC U17 – Glover scored three goals in two MLS Next games over the weekend. He scored twice in the 3-3 draw against FC Cincinnati. He added another goal in the loss to Columbus Crew.
Bridger Baltes Bridger Baltes F Laguna Blanca | 2025 State CA , Santa Barbara SC U16 – Baltes scored all three goals for SBSC in the 3-2 win over Albion SC San Diego.
Maja Catalina Schaathun, Albion SC U17 – Schaathun scored four goals and added an assist in Albion’s win over Fram in the Girls Academy League over the weekend. Check out Schaathun’s goals from the weekend here.
Maddie Smith Maddie Smith F Garnet Valley | 2025 State #117 Nation NJ , Garnet Valley High School – Smith scored three goals and three assists in two wins for her high school last week. She scored one goal and added two assists in a 3-2 win over last year’s state finalist Radnor. She added two goals and an assist in the win over Nazareth Academy. View Maddie’s goals here and here.
Caprice Chiuchiolo Caprice Chiuchiolo 5'3" | M Gilbert Christian | 2025 State AZ , SC del Sol GA U16 – Chiuchiolo scored two goals in the opening two wins of the season for SC del Sol, which sits in first place in the Southwest Bracket of the Girls Academy League.
Cameron Byrd Cameron Byrd null | D Mansfield | 2025 State #53 Nation TX , Solar SC U17 – Byrd scored a goal from her left back position last week while also locking down the opposition and being a key piece of the defense that did not allow a goal in the 4-0 win.
