The big news of the week was Kennedy Fuller Kennedy Fuller 5'5" | F Southlake Carroll (TX) | 2024 #1 Nation TX , the No. 1 recruit from the Class of 2025, reclassified as a 2024 commit and verbally committed to North Carolina. The Tar Heels are up to six verbal commitments for the 2024 class, but it looks like Claire Hutton might also be reclassifying and joining the 2023 class based on her social media profile.
Not to be left in the dust, Stanford landed another verbal commitment for the class, which pushed their total to seven for the Class of 2024. With recent commitments, there are only four players left in the Top 20 of the PrepSoccer Player Rankings who are uncommitted.
Surprisingly, SMU was another winner of the week. The Mustangs landed their highest recruit in program history with the addition of Treasure Byars Treasure Byars M Episcopal (TX) | 2023 #7 Nation TX , the younger sister of Texas star Trinity Byars. Treasure is joining her other older sister Truth Byars Truth Byars null | F Episcopal (TX) | 2023 State #154 Nation TX as a verbal commitment to SMU. Truth Byars Truth Byars null | F Episcopal (TX) | 2023 State #154 Nation TX is part of the 2023 class. The Mustangs also picked up two other verbal commitments over the last week.
Check out a scouting report on a handful of the verbal commitments from the past week.
There are many who believe Lizzie Boamah is the top center back in this class. Considering how Stanford prioritized her as a key piece for this 2024 class, there is plenty of reasons to believe in that opinion. She is an elite athlete at the club level. She is actually the perfect partner for Ella Emri as the two recruits, both from San Diego, complimented each other so well as center backs. Boamah offers the pace and defensive-ability to match-up against the top center forwards from college soccer. All of the seven Stanford verbal commits look like starters for the next level. It is going to be awfully difficult to earn playing time in Palo Alto in 2024 and beyond.
Avery Robinson Avery Robinson M Creekside (FL) | 2024 State #14 Nation FL , the No. 1 recruit from Florida, is heading to the opposite coast. The Florida Elite standout is headed to UCLA. She is a two-way midfielder who can dominate the game on both sides of the ball. The Bruins have three verbal commitments for the Class of 2024 with Nicki Fraser, Paloma Daubert, and Robinson, which is quite the trio for the future of the program.
Treasure Byars Treasure Byars M Episcopal (TX) | 2023 #7 Nation TX is the big win for SMU last week, but not the only win. SMU also added Lydia Ungashick and Liz Eddy. Byars is an attacking midfielder who missed out on much of the last season due to injury. When healthy, Byars is one of the most dynamic attacking talents in club soccer. She can create, finish, and make an impact at the highest level. She should step into the SMU lineup immediately – as the focal point of the attack. The Byars sisters will make the program one to watch in 2024 and beyond.
Duke already landed the No. 1 recruit from the 2024 class in Riley Jackson. Now, the ACC program has one of the top goalkeepers from the class. Caroline Dysart Caroline Dysart null | GK Canyon Crest Academy (CA) | 2024 #54 Nation CA has National Team pedigree. She comes from a Surf program that utilizes the goalkeeper in the build-up, which makes her an asset from that role for an possession-based style of play. She is the third verbal commitment for the Duke 2024 class.
Texas picked up a center midfielder for the 2024 class with Lola Foley Lola Foley M Frisco Memorial (TX) | 2024 State #62 Nation TX . The Solar SC player was a key piece for the squad that won the Dallas Cup in 2022, as a repeat champion. She is fiercely competitive and not afraid to put in a challenge. She is a player that can be a difference-maker at the next level as she has played at a very high level for years and has the intelligence on the field to immediately find a role on the field. She is the second verbal commitment for Texas’s 2024 class, Chloe Shimkin, the younger sister of Jill Shimkin, is the other verbal commitment.
