Have a college commitment to announce? Email him at semaslin05@gmail.com. With the holiday break, we’ve decided to take a look at specifically D.C. United’s recent college commitments!
Wolcott has committed to playing college soccer next season at the University of Maryland-College Park. The MLS Next goalkeeper is a strong, tall goalkeeper that can make excellent diving stops. He is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, a skill that will help him immensely in the up tempo Terrapin system. In addition, he is a real leader and can often be heard delivering instructions to his defenders. It is a skill that many goalkeepers in his age range are still developing but Wolcott already seems to have mastered.
Paulin has committed to playing college soccer next season at Old Dominion University. Another member of United’s MLS Next Goalkeeping corps, Paulin comes from United’s Pathway to Pro program with Arlington Soccer Association. At 6’0″, he is physically ready to take on the college game and has shown that he technically makes good decisions in close games.
Meminger has committed to playing college soccer next season at Loyola University (MD). The 5’7″ right-back is a fast, speedy defender that can also play wingback. He has a solid first touch and can deliver precise passes and crosses into teammates. His delayed runs into the box and have paid immediate dividends for United, with him scoring multiple key goals at the U17 and U19 MLS Next sides. Defensively, he is a strong tackler that can make long clears when necessary and box out defenders to change possession.
Clark has committed to playing college soccer at the University of Maryland-College Park. A 5’10” defender who previously was a member of Baltimore Armour MLS Next/Academy program, Clark has steadily risen through United’s U17 and U19 teams. His ability to clear out crosses into the box and make timely tackles has helped United’s backline immensely. He is also very comfortable at building plays from the back, taking his time to make precise, targeted passes. He also made 5 appearances for Loudoun United in the USL Championship last season.
Nana-Sinkam has committed to playing college soccer next season at Holy Cross College. The defensive midfielder came from Richmond United’s Pathway 2 Pro program with United. He has a real knack for getting his team out of high pressure situations. Whether it is making a key interception, winning an aerial battle, or setting up the counter-attack, Nana-Sinkam has pulled United out of some tight situation. Holy Cross plays in a very tough conference in the Patriot League where matches are decided by a goal or less and often in the final minutes. Adding a defensive midfielder of Nana-Sinkam’s caliber is a major feather in their cap.

Hartman has committed to playing college soccer next season at the University of Portland. The third member of United’s U19 Goalkeeping crew, Hartman is also a product of their Pathway 2 Pro program, having previously played for Alexandria Soccer Association. The 6’2″ shot stopper makes excellent reads on the ball, both in terms of loose chances in the box and in one-on-one situations with the attacker. In the 2022 Generation Adidas Cup, he showed tremendous poise against a strong River Plate side making several key saves including a penalty kick stop.
Chisolm has committed to playing college soccer next season at the University of Kentucky. The 6’3″ center forward is a towering, dominant presence in the box and can make aerial headers and volleys look easy. He has an excellent first touch and can seamlessly move through defenders with minimal resistance. The former Virginia Legacy player has been called up to the United States Youth National Team at the U15 level and made one appearance for Loudoun United last year in the USL Championship.
