Just outside of Miami, in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, lies a lot of girls soccer talent. This is evidenced by the fact that six of the Best XI from Broward-Palm Beach are committed to Division I programs, with five others that very well could be.

It's a senior heavy group, with 10 of the 11 entering their final high school season. As mentioned, six of those 10 are committed with two of them staying in state.

FORWARDS: [player_tooltip player_id='21289' first='Lily' last='White'] is the lone underclassmen on the Preseason All-Metro team, and for good reason. She scored 20 goals and dished out eight assists as a sophomore, and now has 43 goals in two seasons after scoring 23 in just 15 games as a freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='21273' first='Leah' last='Finkelman'] has 77 goals in her first three seasons, as 100 is within her grasp especially when you consider she scored 34 as a junior last season. She is committed to the University of Pennsylvania. [player_tooltip player_id='21359' first='Nyela' last='Calnek'] is going to be playing at Vanderbilt next season, and she scored 10 goals in just 12 games as a junior.

MIDFIELDERS: [player_tooltip player_id='21285' first='Lillian' last='Nava'] leads the midfield as the Central Florida commit scored 22 goals as a junior, and has 68 in her career, including 34 as a freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='21185' first='Jazmin' last='Herrera'] returns as the captain for the Archbishop McCarthy team after missing last season, while [player_tooltip player_id='21162' first='Isabella' last='Diez'] will look to help a South Florida HEAT team get past the quarterfinals after a 24-win campaign a year ago.

DEFENDERS: Three of the four defenders are committed to Division I programs with teammates from American Heritage-Plantation, [player_tooltip player_id='33336' first='Nyema' last='Freeman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='21092' first='Dori' last='Johnson'], going to the University of Miami and Grambling State, respectively. The team will be looking for a 5A title after coming close last year, losing to Naples 1-0 in the regional semifinal. [player_tooltip player_id='21306' first='Macy' last='Berg'] is committed to Miami University in Ohio, and on top of being a class defender she has eight career goals. Ann Brady of St. Thomas Aquinas is a smaller defender, but fierce and strong and is a bit of an Iron Lady, playing nearly every minute of every match last year.

KEEPER: [player_tooltip player_id='20925' first='Ashley' last='Small'] is coming off a knee injury, but looks to be the top keeper in the area and should help the Pine Crest Panthers go deeper into their season in 2022/2023. The Panthers lost to Palmer Trinity in the District playoffs last year to end their season, and a keeper like Small who plays on the the US National Futsal team should be able to help.
