North Coast Section Boys Rankings – Nov. 28
With Thanksgiving and the end of November comes the beginning of the North Coast Section high school soccer season. And with the beginning of the NCS season comes the rankings. Those who have followed these rankings have followed them from Bay Area News Group website, to Matt Smith’s private site and now they have found a new home at PrepSoccer.
These are the debut NCS rankings for PrepSoccer, and these first rankings see Bay Area powerhouse De La Salle at the top. The Spartans ended last year on a tear, won the NCS Division I crown and return a very solid group. Another classic East Bay power, Richmond, holds down the No. 2 spot. Montgomery, Clayton Valley and Berkeley round out the top five.
The East Bay Athletic League has four other teams ranked, along with De La Salle, with Dublin coming it at No. 9, Monte Vista at No. 11, Dougherty Valley at No. 12 and San Ramon Valley at No. 14.
Redwood, now a Division I team, is the defending DII champs, and comes in at No. 8 with defending Division III champion Marin Academy checking in at No. 11.
