<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two things will be very obvious when you see the San Jose All-Metro Boys preseason team. It is completely loaded with seniors, all 11 players are seniors, in fact. And, it is loaded with Bellarmine Prep players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>BCP features five of the 11, with three of those five already committed to Division I programs. The Bells won 10 matches last year, but with all of these returning stars, expect this to be a very big season for them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's learn about those five, and the other six, that make up this preseason team from San Jose.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":63490,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2022/11/Kavi-Krishnan-crop-599x394-1668398490.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-63490"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo: Bellarmine Prep</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>FORWARDS: Kavi Krishnan headlines this group of two as the creative forward, who is already committed to UC Santa Barbara, should be the most feared attacking player in the West Catholic Athletic League. Xavier Van Loben Sels of JSerra was a first-team All-WCAL selection a year ago. A smaller forward, but a very creative and athletic one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":63550,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2022/11/Kasdan-Blattman-crop-449x295-1668437900.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-63550"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo: Bellarmine Prep</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>MIDFIELDERS: Kasdan Blattman hasn't committed to a college program yet, but last year's WCAL Midfielder of the Year certainly will be playing at the next level. Dylan Joudieh was a second-team all-league player for JSerra last year and returns as one of the better midfielders. A pair of St. Francis players, [player_tooltip player_id='8664' first='Shawn' last='Garlick'] and John Kenney, round out the midfield. Both were second-team all-league as juniors last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>DEFENDERS: [player_tooltip player_id='8052' first='Keagan' last='Rhodes'] of Bellarmine has played forward for the Bells in the past, but he committed to Santa Clara as an outside back and will be playing mostly outside back for the Bells. He is joined on the team by his teammate, Jimmy Moore, who was second team All-WCAL last season as a junior. [player_tooltip player_id='7195' first='Bryan' last='Kim'] of Mountain View was the defensive MVP of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and should easily be considered that league's top defender. Another Mountain View player, Jamieson DeAngelis, joins Kim on the team as he was a first-team all-leaguer last year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>KEEPER: Nick Thiele is a UC San Diego commit who is replacing the WCAL's Keeper of the year in Mikey Macias. Thiele was with the De Anza Force Academy, but is playing for Bellarmine in his senior season and will be able to play with his younger brother, Lucas, who is a junior and is in his second year with the program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:table --> <figure id="tablepress-254" class="wp-block-table"><table><tbody><tr><th>Position</th><th>Name</th><th>School</th><th>Grade</th><th>Commitment</th></tr><tr><td>GK</td><td>Nick Thiele</td><td>Bellarmine Prep</td><td>Sr.</td><td>UC San Diego</td></tr><tr><td>D</td><td>Jimmy Moore</td><td>Bellarmine Prep</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>D</td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='7195' first='Bryan' last='Kim']</td><td>Mountain View</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>D</td><td>Jamieson DeAngelis</td><td>Mountain View</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>D</td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='8052' first='Keagan' last='Rhodes']</td><td>Bellarmine Prep</td><td>Sr.</td><td>Santa Clara</td></tr><tr><td>M</td><td>Kasdan Blattman</td><td>Bellarmine Prep</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>M</td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='8664' first='Shawn' last='Garlick']</td><td>St. Francis</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>M</td><td>John Kenney</td><td>St. Francis</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>M</td><td>Dylan Joudieh</td><td>Junipero Serra</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>F</td><td>Xavier Van Loben Sels</td><td>Junipero Serra</td><td>Sr.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>F</td><td>Kavi Krishnan</td><td>Bellarmine Prep</td><td>Sr.</td><td>UC Santa Barbara</td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table -->
