Over the past few years, these players have made a name for themselves, separated themselves from their class, and earned a spot in the rankings. These players here are all uncommitted and maybe have gone under the radar over the past couple of seasons but they still deserve the recognition.
(GK) Jenna Sapong Jenna Sapong GK Northview (GA) | 2023 State GA , Northview HS
Jenna comes in first on the list and is among the few goalkeepers in the rankings. That being said her abilities in the goal have her ranked at #11 and any coach looking to strengthen the goalkeeper position should be watching her. Jenna is a great combination of athletic ability and the technical qualities of a goalkeeper at a high level. She communicates with her teams and consistently makes saves & blocks. Also as a modern goalie, she has great distribution with her hands and feet and isn’t afraid to get involved with her team’s buildup play which is a key asset. With Northview in the 2022 season, she kept a handful of clean sheets and helped push them into an early playoff run. She will be looking to have a strong final season and will have plenty of schools watching her for recruitment.
(D) Tessa Harrington Tessa Harrington D Forsyth Central (GA) | 2023 State GA , Forsyth Central
Next up is Tessa who is a complete defender whose ability as a defender is well-complimented by her ability on the ball. An intelligent defender who often will look to find a pass after winning the ball or making a tackle rather than just clearing it out. These abilities helped her lead in defense at Forsyth Central to the playoffs and will aim to make a stronger run in the 2023 season. Coaches looking to build on an experienced defender should keep tabs on Tessa.
(F) Anabel Orozco Anabel Orozco F Fayette County (GA) | 2023 State GA , Fayette County HS
Our first forward on the uncommitted list, any coach looking for a forward to build into their team should be watching Anabel. In the past 2022 season at Fayette County HS, she has racked up an impressive 47 goals & 14 assists. Able to play anywhere across the front she is an all-action goalscorer who can score in a handful of ways and combine with her teammates. She helped Fayette to the first-round playoff run but will want to further build on her numbers from last season and finish with a strong playoff run.
(LW,FW,D) Archer Streelman Archer Streelman F Grady (GA) | 2023 State GA , Grady HS
Archer is a versatile player who can multiple positions but excels as a forward, getting up and down the wings or behind. Able to play well with both of her feet she is comfortable playing on either side of defense or the wings and can contribute both offensively and defensively. This combined with a great engine she uses to beat players on the dribble or into space. She is a consistent player who can adapt to her team’s needs which are shown in her high school career with Grady(Midtown) where she played multiple positions getting a handful of goals and assists and helping her team to a third-round playoff run. Archer will be a great player for any coach to either build around or develop for the future in a handful of positions.
(MF, FW) Malone Christen Malone Christen M Armuchee (GA) | 2023 GA , Armuchee HS
Our final player and another forward, Malone is a big talent as a finisher, and her end product rivals some of the best. The first thing you see watching Malone play is that she is left-footed but isn’t afraid to use her weaker right foot. Her ability to strike the ball with so much power with very little time and space often sees her scoring from tight angles or through crowds of defenders. Off the ball, she is constantly moving and hunting the ball down and never gives rest to defenders. She has a great desire to close down defenders playing out of the back and her speed in doing so often causes panic and mistakes in defense. Her back to back y MVP awards with Armuchee is a testament to her ability and will be looking for a strong finish in her final season, looking to push for a deep playoff run and lead her team again in points.
