Continue ReadingThe PrepSoccer rankings for the Colorado Class of 2024 were released earlier this week. The updated rankings take into account the play from the summer and fall events at the club level as well as some recommendations from the high school season last year.
The PrepSoccer ranking process is explained here. The state rankings will be updated again in the spring. The national rankings will be updated in the winter/spring as well.
Below are the top uncommitted players from the rankings. These players were uncommitted as of Dec. 13 per the PrepSoccer prospect database.
rnNickel is a right back who is a relatively new addition to the Girls Academy team at the club. The determined prospect has really come on in the last few months. Her performance against Houston Dash Academy was a great example of her quality as a player. She is good going forward – serves a good ball on the cross, good decision-making on the ball. She is good in duels with strong tackles and quick feet. She has all the qualities be an outside back at the next level.

Sparrow is a familiar name from the club game as she has been a top player for some time – with leading scorer honors on every team along the way. She is a winger who can dominate the game at the youth level. She is strong on the ball and hard to handle in 1v1 situations. She has a quick first step – and does well spinning away from pressure when she feels the defender on one shoulder. When she is running at goal, she does well in her decision-making as to whether she should go to goal or serve a cross. She is right-footed and hits the ball with good technique. There is still more potential to grow Sparrow’s game, as she could develop into a great two-way winger for the next level.
MacDonald is a bit of a surprise that she’s on this list. She has all of the tools to be a starting center midfielder at a top program in 2024. It’s a matter of time before she finds the right fit. The biggest difference between MacDonald and other midfielders in this class is her finishing ability in aerial duels. She is truly a weapon on set pieces. During the run of play, MacDonald is often near or around the box because Rush typically dictates the play and she takes on a more advanced role. She is a good finisher and has excellent ball striking technique. She has the traits to be a key contributor at the next level in her position.
Dail is a multi-sport athlete. Standing at 5-foot-11, she is one of the tallest goalkeepers in the ECNL – and this graduating class. She is athletic, determined, and competitive. It’s easy to see why she is a standout in multiple sports. She spent the summer at multiple ID camps, so multiple coaches have seen her quality in goal up close. This club season, she has shown her improvement on crosses as she is active off her line and does well in punching away crosses while in traffic around the goal. She is very confident in her shot-stopping and has secure hands to eliminate rebounds. The qualities are there for Dail to develop into a top level goalkeeper at the college level.
Left backs who are left footed and have great technical ability are very rare, which makes Ganiere almost one of a kind for her position. She is the starting left back for her club side, Real Colorado, and was an all-everything for her high school last season. Ganiere was a left back at that level too, but she was able to get forward often and showed her quality in the attack. She is an excellent passer and has great vision. She is a top left back for the region and could be an early starter at the next level.
Gabby Beaudry has the potential to jump up the most in the rankings during the next update. She’s been a late arrival to the scene for our scouts, but she has certainly impressed. She is a two-way midfielder who has a cannon for a leg. She can score from anywhere inside of the attacking midfield. She is the type of midfielder who will put in the tackle and make sure you know it’s going to be a long game if you come through the center. She’s a good passer and she does well in receiving the ball to face the field so she has better vision of her options. She is a top option from that position in this class.
