Here are the updated rankings, starting with the boys this time around.
BOYS
Generally a team would need to win and another would have to lose in order for the top spot in the rankings to change hands, but Bellarmine’s draw was with a previously unranked team (which is no longer the case as SI has come into the rankings) while Sacred Heart Prep drew with a Mater Dei team which beat the No. 2 team in the state.
Los Altos climbs to No. 4 after a resounding win over previously No. 3 ranked Santa Clara, as that No. 3 spot now belongs to Alisal which has won four straight and is unbeaten in seven since the Bellarmine loss. Prospect rounds out the top five, moving up two spots.
St. Francis moves up three spots to No. 6, thanks in large part to a win over the aforementioned Mater Dei team. Mitty joins the rankings, improving to 7-3-0 thanks in large part to a win over Lincoln. Mitty has also beaten De La Salle this year, and all three losses are by one goal to top ten teams.
Gunn jumps into the top ten, settling in at No. 9, while St. Ignatius and Mountain View join the Top 15.

The Wildcats knocked off previous No. 1 and previously undefeated St. Francis, and have lost only to San Clemente (one of the state’s top teams) and have drawn with an excellent Monte Vista team and with Hamilton of Arizona in the Arizona Soccer Showcase.
St. Francis and Woodside drop a spot each, to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while Mitty climbs to No. 4 after looking good at the Tri-Valley Classic. Mountain View climbs to spots to No. 7 as the Spartans have won three in a row, very convincingly.
