Continue ReadingJust like every other class and rankings, it’s also an excellent time to look at unranked players who just missed out on rankings which are good to keep on the radar as they get set for the upcoming 2023 season. A great mix of players are from large well established schools and some at some smaller schools will be coming into the season strong. Be on the lookout for these sets of players as we progress and check back during the season.
Starting us off we a have a forward from North Atlanta HS, Quinn who had a breakout season as a freshman putting up 8 goals and 2 assists for a total of 18 points in less than 10 games payed. A defenders nightmare Quinn likes to play on the last defender and use her speed and quality timed runs to get in behind and finish off chances. She also can come deep to combine with her teammates or turn to beat defenders on the dribble. A hardworking forward she keeps moving and keeps pressing defenders and will work to get to every ball and chance that comes her way. She will be looking to help her school to another deep playoff run this season.
Highlights
It’s rare to see a freshman put up the numbers Cameron did in her first season of high school soccer but they are a testament to her ability. Finishing 19 games with 23 goals and 8 assists, Cameron was key to her teams offensive success. A dynamic forward who can operate anywhere across the front line but preforms best when either running off the last defender or coming deep to link play take defenders on herself. Her technical and finishing ability is also combined with fantastic speed. An absolute nightmare for defenders to handle, the coming season will be hers to take with Norcross.
Alexa comes in as a versatile player who can play either in the defense or further up the field if needed. She’s quick to step in and win the ball and and is sharp on the dribble. Her lower center o gravity allows her to keep possession of the ball and knock of attackers or defenders that may be stronger than her. Last season with Pace Academy she got in a handful of games and picked up 5 points with 2 goals and assists as they won their division championship. She will be looking to have a larger role and rack up more points in the coming 2023 season
Highlights
Another forward Ava will be one to watch over the net few seasons as she gets more experience with Northgate HS. A active forwards who sees to never stop running wether its chasing after through balls or putting pressure on defenders. Combined with being cool in-front of goal she finishes most chances with ease. Not scared to use her other foot, she scores a variety of goals and isn’t afraid to put her body in a challenge with a defender or goalie. Her killer instill and deft touch and finishing will be key for the upcoming season for Northgate and another playoff run.
Highlights
Aspen is a young midfielder that’s showing a large amount of potential as a midfielder that can play going both ways. Her size and athletic ability is combined with a good touch and passing range. Typically playing as the deepest midfielder she often breaks up attacks or is helping her team play out of the back. With her age she’s plays at a very high and mature level. After a first season with Cambridge HS where she got a couple of goals and assists for a total of 6 points, her coach will have an experienced young player to help build the team around.
Another young player from Cambridge, Raygen will be another core piece to a strong Cambridge teaming the coming season. Able to play anywhere across the backline and even as a winger if needed but primarily plays as an outside left or right back.. She reads the game well from a defensive position and know when tossup out to win the ball or hold her shape. Strong in the tackle and not afraid to get physical if needed. One of the most impressive parts of her game is her recovery speed and fast feet on the ball. Cambridge will be be using her along with others to create a strong backline for the coming years and coaches will be keeping their eyes on her.
