This article does a deep-dive into the attacking talent from the class.
The San Jose Earthquakes academy continues to produce talented players in the winger position, and Dougan looks to be the next in line. The youngster from Northern California is a dynamic player who is good in 1v1 situations. He is an excellent finisher from a variety of angles. He has the quick first-step to get past defenders, and good decision-making in the final third to make the right choice when he has that advantage. Dougan looks the part of a difference-maker from a winger at the next level.
Adame is a center forward who has been incredibly productive this season. The City SC star has produced a goal or a scoring chance in pretty much every MLS NEXT game during the campaign. He is always thinking on the field. He had a game this season where he setup a goal by letting a defender believe he wouldn’t chase down a lazy back pass to the keeper. He had baited the outside back into making the pass earlier in the game when he gave a half-hearted effort on a similar pass. It was a clever move in the right moment. Adame’s production in MLS NEXT has already drawn the interest of some professional academies. He will be on the radar of even more if he keeps this up during the spring.
Garcia popped up on our radar last club season for his play with Beach FC in the Boys ECNL. He made the jump to LAFC during this club season. The arrival in MLS NEXT has not changed anything for the youngster. He is a bruising attacker who will run through defenders and strike the ball with venom.
It’s easy to be all-in on Robert Jacobs (aka Bobby Jacobs Bobby Jacobs F State CA ) as a prospect. The left-footed center forward who can do pretty much anything. If almost goals counter, Jacobs would be in the contention for his effort off a corner kick against Murrieta Soccer Academy. An acrobatic attempt to take the ball out of the air and finish with the outside of his heel. Jacobs is a prolific scorer and a top prospect in this class.
Garces is a winger with high energy. He had a bright showing at the MLS NEXT event. He creates chances with his pressing, but he has also has the skill to make magic when he is in possession of the ball. Garces is one to watch from this class.
