With rosters and schedules released, HS soccer in Georgia will be in full swing in the coming weeks. We will look at the different divisions and teams within them to highlight critical players as they gear up for the season, how they will be used, or what roles they will provide to their team. Preseason games and nonconference games are already coming in, allowing teams to find their best setups before league games start. With over 6 divisions and 20 teams in some of the divisions, there's much that can be looked at but narrowing it down to essential players within the divisions and teams expected to do well.

GA Class 7A

The largest division to start us off, West Forsyth has gone back to back with conference championships and has been dominating the league with a stellar defense and deadly offense. Newcomers Denmark HS will be looking to have another strong year and challenge for the title along with Mill Creek, Harrison, and Walton all looking to set their stake for the top spots. Teams in this division consistently are putting out strong teams with dozens of ranked players so anything can and will happen.

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='32969' first='Jordyn' last='Crosby'] (F, Denmark HS)

One top deadliest forwards in the state and 7A division, Jordyn racked up multiple awards last season and finishing multiple goals and assists with a new school in a top division is no slouch. She's an elite finisher and technical player combined with having a season under her belt with Denmark HS she will be a player to watch.

Michelle Mosakau (D, West Forsyth)

A key player in West Forsyth's dominance over a couple of years, Michelle is a top-level defender who has consistently been the glue to her team's stellar defensive record and leading the team overall. Able to play anywhere across the backline she is able to not only defensively but help set up her attackers. Her being in good form will be a testament to West Forsyth's overall abilities through the season.

GA Class 6A

We have one of our larger divisions and possibly one the most competitive in terms of individual talent and the team's overall strength. A competitive division with multiple teams coming close to championships and outstanding records from Buford and Houston County HS and Cambridge. Lassiter came in slightly under the radar and dominated the league and win the championship and will look to repeat. Buford and Both Cambridge have strong teams to challenge once again with key players between the both of them

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='21624' first='Casey' last='Maddox'] (F, Shiloh HS)

Coming out of Shiloh one of the quieter schools in the division, Casey has snuck in as a top player and has helped Shiloh punch above their weight and challenge some of the top teams in the division.

[player_tooltip player_id='21890' first='Natalie' last='Leibel'] (MF, Cambridge HS)

Cambridge has boasted some of the best talents in the divisions over the past few seasons and Natalie has been a part of that group over the past few seasons. Operating either as an attacking midfielder or forward, she is a key component to Cambridge's success in games as her high-level play and ability to get points to help keep them ticking along. She will be a leader and an important player to Cambridge in an upcoming tough season.

GA Class 5A

Another one of the top divisions is set to be another competitive year with multiple ti pulse teams fighting for the championship. Chámblee winners of last year will be looking to repeat with a strong core squad, while Blessed Trinity and Gatorade Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id='21915' first='Riley' last='Jackson'] will be looking to make their place at the top. McIntosh and Greenbrier are closely following and will be pulling for an upset in the playoffs.

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='21915' first='Riley' last='Jackson'] (MF, Blessed Trinity)

Quite literally one of the best players in the nation, who is nationally ranked and playing within the USWNT national team camp, saying Riley is an elite player is an understatement. A proper midfielder who does essentially everything at an extremely high level no matter if its goals or assists and helping out defensively. She has been the glue to a talented Blessed Trinity team

[player_tooltip player_id='21942' first='Solai' last='Washington'] (F, Chamblee)

Solai was a key offensive component of an elite championship team and will be set to help her school go back-to-back. Finishing last season with over 50 points and 20-plus goals her consistent form was key to Chamblee dominating most teams and this season will be no different for her.
