From the scouting process, there were a number of new players added to the rankings. Check out some of the new names to know from this class below.
Goalkeeper. The hero of the Generation adidas Cup last season for Atlanta United is still the top option for the MLS Academy in his age group. He has some of the quickest reactions in the country for the position. A number of saves he makes per game would end up on the highlight reel for any other player. Griner’s reflexes and shot-stopping instincts make him the top prospect for the position in the state.
rnGarcia-Bonilla is a talented midfielder for Lanier. He is clean on the ball with good vision. He is active off the ball and constantly surveying the field to try to find opportunities to receive the ball or open up space for his teammates. His quality on the first touch sets him up for success even while playing out of tight spaces.

Cotton was a standout from the MLS Next event in California in December. The multi-sport athlete is dynamic in space. He impressed initially with his work rate. Scouts often cite a forwards effort after they score, and Cotton has continuously showed that he doesn’t slow down regardless of his production or the score of the game. He is a more physical forward than most in this position.
Highlights
Michael Lake aka Garreth Lake Garreth Lake F Camden County | 2026 GA , the Tormenta Academy forward, has been a breakout star of the 2022/2023 MLS Next season. He is from South Carolina but included in the Georgia rankings because his club plays in Georgia. The center forward has good size and skill for the position. He is an efficient finisher, excellent in link up play, and has quick feet with a poacher’s mentality. He is a top prospect for the position and should be on the radar of every scout in the region.
Rohde is a highly-rated outside back from Georgia in this class. He has been part of US Youth National Team Regional ID camps as well as on trial with MLS academies. He plays right back for his club side. He is an outstanding individual defender. He is comfortable on the ball and a very good passer for his position. His team tends to play through his side to utilize his quality in playmaking from that spot. He is one to watch.
