Over the course of the regular season, they showed a lot of improvement and have evolved into a unit that plays well together. The Cowgirls punched their ticket to the post-season by locking up the 4th and final District 6 play-off spot earlier this week with a convincing 3-0 win at home over Flower Mound. Coppell has gotten experience and leadership from their juniors and seniors, but it is their wealth of underclass talent that we are going to focus on. This article will highlight some of the Cowgirl’s brightest underclassmen who should be on your radar for the play-offs, and for years to come.
Neerali Kapadia is a very fast young winger with an immensely high ceiling. She is good on the ball and always gets into the right spot to pull defenders out and open things up for her teammates. Neerali has some serious wheels and is a player defenders do not want to get into a foot race with. From either wing she can deliver crosses, pick out passes, or take on defenders and go to goal herself. Neerali has very quick feet, giving her the ability to navigate in traffic and between defenders. Neerali is quality in front of goal, but she is also smart and unselfish in the final third. She converts breakaways and 1v1’s at an incredibly high rate. If her freshman year is any indication of what’s to come, she is a name you will likely hear in the future.
Monica Morales Monica Morales D Coppell | 2025 State #271 Nation TX is a fit, tenacious, and versatile player. Monica typically starts at the back, but if Coppell needs to score she will move up into the midfield. This kind of versatility is not typical of most center backs, and really speaks to how well-rounded her game is. She is strong when going into tackles and is not afraid of contact. She has the leg, vision, and skill to play long passes or finds forward runners. Monica is not lacking physically, she has a high work rate and is very fit. She has the vertical to go up over players to win headers, and can be a target on attacking set-pieces. Monica is one of the more well-rounded players out there and has the potential to develop into a special player.
Reagan Roberson is a smart, young, goal-scoring forward. Reagan has the desire to score goals that you cannot teach. She has good spatial awareness and checks her shoulders more than many strikers her age. She plays off the ball well and can find or create space to get shots off from varying distances. Reagan has the talent to score ‘highlight reel’ goals, but her ability to react to and put away scrappy chaotic rebounds and deflections is equally as impressive.
Veronika Orzolek is a technically sound and fearless goal keeper. Veronika is great with her parries and has fast hands to make close proximity saves. She has the athleticism and agility to get from side to side quickly. She has a strong sense of awareness, and the ability to judge the trajectory of a strike. Veronika plays the position with the fearlessness of a true keeper and won’t hesitate to come off her line or fly into 50/50s.
Summer Chen Summer Chen M Coppell | 2025 State #75 Nation TX is a dynamic player who is a good distributor that can control the tempo of a game. She is a dynamic presence who has been a successful midfielder/forward for Coppell, but when she is playing outside back you can get a better sense of how good of a player she is. Her positioning, body shape, and sliding challenges are text book, but arguably her most impressive defensive quality is her impeccably timed tackles in the box. Summer’s ability to time and execute goal-saving tackles can be attributed to her high soccer IQ. When such a naturally skilled defensive player is being used frequently as a midfielder/forward, it is usually a sign that they are truly talented impact players. Summer’s vision, passing, and delivery have provided a boost to Coppell’s attack, and also make her perfectly suited to play as a wing-back. Summer has many qualities of a great player, and certainly has the potential to develop into one of the top backs in the country.
