We’ll also be presenting some of the most promising teams that we get to watch live so you know them a little bit better.
Jordan Warriors
The Jordan Warriors from Katy play in the competitive UIL Division 6A – Region 3, District 19. They were a Division 5A program until last season and showed they belong in the district by earning a playoff spot right off the bat. Created in 2020, the program was already born strong as they made a run to the State Tournament semifinals last season.
Players to Watch
Elijah Betancourt
Elijah Betancourt
An excellent shot-stopper, Betancourt is a reliable presence for the Warriors between the posts. He transmits a lot of confidence to his teammates with his strong and consistent play and often keeps his team in games. Betancourt is very agile and his reflexes are truly impressive. He has good command of the penalty box and good chemistry with his defenders and is solid when dealing with high shots too.
Pierce Sanchez
Pierce Sanchez
Sanchez forms a strong center-back duo with Ben Bucic that gives the Warriors the defensive stability they need. He’s not very tall, but is extremely athletic and quick and gets to win plays because of his physical skills. The defender is very good at timing his tackles and is strong in the air too. Sanchez also communicates very well with his teammates and helps maintain the team organized when defending.
Juancarlos Santos Juancarlos Santos M TX

Playing as a deep-lying playmaker, Santos has a big role with Jordan, controlling the team’s pace in possession and helping the Warriors move the ball around in the middle. He’s an excellent passer and is great at creating space for himself with some unexpected turns in the center of the field. Despite his deeper positioning, Santos is very good at pushing forward without the ball through the middle and finishes extremely well from distance, a skill that has generated several goals in the season. He is also very active on defense, helping shield his team’s backline.
Ryan Armijo Ryan Armijo M TX

Playing alongside Campos in the middle, Armijo is another talented player in this Jordan team. More offensive-minded, he circulates well all over the field and always makes himself available for teammates. Armijo reads the game very well and is quick to make decisions, often finding teammates in good spots with unexpected passes. He also contributes to his team’s offense with his ability to dribble the ball through the middle and quality finishes. Because of his size, Armijo is also strong in the air, winning aerial duels in the middle and on both penalty boxes.
Marcelo Ojeda
Marcelo Ojeda
Jordan’s midfield trio is easily the team’s main strength and Ojeda is the one to bring a lot of dynamism and intensity to it. He plays a little higher up the field than Santos and Armijo and is very good at operating around the penalty box. Very quick, the midfielder is really good at dribbling the ball forward and generates good spaces for him and his teammates to work at. Ojeda finishes very well from mid-range is also efficient with his passing. He also tracks back and helps the team on defense.
