Here's a look at some notable keepers in Illinois this soccer season. These were written before the games on 4/18

[player_tooltip player_id='41725' first='Shannon' last='Clark'], Benet - Galaxy SC 2023

After an outstanding junior campaign, The University of Denver Commit has taken her game to new heights recently. Clark has seven shutouts in nine games this season, while conceding only five goals. Clark displays lots of athleticism in net and does a really good job closing out spaces and controlling her body. Benet currently holds and 8-1 record and atop the ESCC.

Jordan Forbes, Geneva 2024

She stole the show in the Plainfield Classic last week, leading Geneva past unbeaten Plainfield North in a penalty shootout for the tournament championship. Forbes made numerous big plays in the game to go along with saving the first two kicks in the penalty shootout. Despite her height, she's confident with winning balls in her area and shows lots of quickness. She's a keeper college coaches should keep on their radar.

[player_tooltip player_id='43668' first='Zoey' last='Bohmer'], Wheaton North - Wheaton United 2024

A three-sport athlete (basketball, golf) at Wheaton North. Her play between the posts has been superb this season. Wheaton North has already pulled off numerous upsets and is one of the hottest teams in the Chicago-Area. A big 1-0 upset win over Lincoln-Way East was one of her best performances and extended a shutout streak to three games. Lots of height at 5'10" and soccer is her main sport.

Sara Schicker, Lyons Township - LTSC 2023

Schnicker had to wait her turn, but she's taken advantage of a lead role as a keeper on this years 10-0 Lyons team. She's only conceded one goal this season and is headed to play collegiately at Carthage College (D3 - Kenosha, WI) in the fall. Both her, and sophomore Nora Ezike, split time in net and have only conceded once altogether.

Alyssa Gluting, Metea Valley - Galaxy SC 2024

She's had an outstanding first season as a starter on varsity, and Metea Valley rightfully remain unbeaten. She's allowed just nine goals in twelve games to go along with over five saves per contest. A very good athlete who excels at closing out angles and making top-notch saves. She also does well off her line and makes solid plays with her feet.

Olivia Ochsner, Naperville North - Chicago Inter 2026

Starting Varsity as a freshman isn't easy to do. But when you do it for a large school who competes with the best like Naperville North, that's quite impressive. A 1.13 GAA and a .75 save percentage is pretty good too. Expect big things coming for her in the future!
