Below is a scouting report on some of the players from the rankings and watch list form the first ranking for this class.
rnCenter back. Dominant. Leader
rnChamagne is the right center back for the St. Louis City SC 08 MLS Next Team. He has been a standout at that age group for some time. He is easy to spot on the field as usually one of the tallest players. He stands tall and plays with confidence. He uses his size well too. He will poke the ball away from center forwards with his long legs when they try to shield the ball from him. He’s also dominant in the air.
rnMidfielder. Clean. Sharp passer.
rnBrito is one of the standouts from the Sounders academy. He is a midfielder who looks ready to make the jump up in a level. He was very good for his side at the GA Cup recently. He is always showing for his teammates and working to get the ball. On the ball, he makes quick decisions and plays clean accurate passes to his teammates. He has a sharp soccer mind and looks ready to play against older competition to see how he does at that level.
rn
rnWinger/Forward. Finisher. Powerful
rnHume has been one of the top players in the ECNL for a few seasons now. He is one of the standouts on the Crossfire Boys ECNL 08 team, which is probably the best team in the country in that age group in ECNL. Crossfire recently won the Dallas Cup with an impressive showing in the final. Hume is a winger who has pace and power. When he gets past the defense, there is no stopping him. He is a good finisher and has a cannon for a shot. He has all the tools to be top prospect from this class.
rnMidfielder. Skillful. Exciting
rnCaraballo Delgado had a moment against Minnesota United in the GA Cup that would’ve been the goal of the tournament – a terrific cut back that sent the center back out to lunch and then a finish with his weak foot, but he was denied by the post as the shot hit both posts before staying out of the goal. The Orlando City prospect responded well moments later with a goal from well outside of the box with his left foot on a shot to the lower corner of the goal. He’s an exciting talent with a lot of quality. He was named to the Best XI from Generation adidas Cup by MLS. Jarell Bonilla was also a breakout star for Orlando City at the event.
rnMidfielder. High work-rate. Good decision-maker.
rnCurtis is one of the top prospects from the Charlotte FC MLS Academy. Check out the PrepSoccer scouting report on Curtis here. He was also a standout from the Generation Adidas Cup in Florida. He showed his quality on both sides of the ball as he was excellent in pressing and disrupted the opposition with his defensive work.
