The PrepSoccer state player rankings uses the player’s club’s home field as the state for ranking. It creates some confusion in the Missouri/Illinois/Kansas state rankings, but this list should reflect the best players we saw in the past year that fit that standard. Below is a scouting report on a few of the players who appear in the state rankings for Missouri in this update. We will continue to update are state rankings throughout the club season.
Winger/Wide midfielder.
Drozda is a dynamic attacking talent. She is a tough player to contain as she can play on the left side so it allows her the chance to cut in on her right to hit a shot or drop her shoulder and get to the end line for a cross. She is quick and hard to knock off the ball. She has the tools to develop into a top attacking option from this state.
rnCenter back. Left. Right footed.
rnPrefers to play deep with the game in front of her. Good individual defender when matched up. Physical and smart. She reads the attacker and does well poking the ball off the player’s foot. Has a super high ceiling. Recently been a part of the USYNT Talent Identification Center events.
rnMidfielder. Versatile. Skillful.
rnDalke is a flat-out player. She is listed as a midfielder, but she could really impact that game at any spot on the field (perhaps goalkeeper too?). There were some moments while watching the SLSG Navy 08 ECNL games that Dalke was making passes that just left my jaw on the floor. She has incredible vision, but beyond that she has this innate feel for the game. She makes runs through the center channel that are usually two passes ahead of the play. Dalke is a top talent in this class. She was a miss on the national list. She should be there and will be there in the next update.
rnAttacking midfielder. Athletic. Dynamic
rnGuthrie is an exciting prospect from SLSG Navy 08. She is one of the catalyst of the midfield and attack for SLSG. She is good on the ball and connects a lot of passes for her side. She does an excellent job with body feints to create space. Always prioritizing keeping possession of the ball for her side, she tends to play the way she faces. She can hit a shot from outside of the box – but she could improve on her ball-striking to take her game to the next level.
Highlights
rnWinger. Quick feet. Skillful.
rnDimitroff is a difference-maker in the final third. She is tough to contain with her close control of the ball and ability to cut on a dime. She is always on her front foot and looking to make a key pass. She is a pretty good finisher too. She has been a breakout star at the high school level (in Illinois) early in the season as a freshman.
rnCenter back.
rnEllner stood out from game film for the type of plays she was making – not every moment was going to pop up on a highlight reel, but she was making good decisions for a center back and contributing to the winning result even when she was not on the ball or directly defending. She did well in covering for teammates – she is a willing runner and read the play to get into the right spots if her teammates needed support. She showed good vision in her passing. SLSG went long on goal kicks from the games I saw so not sure on her decision-making in the build-up, but the blueprint is there for a tactically advanced center back.
rnWinger
rnThe aspect of Hoffman’s game that stood out was how well she did in shielding the ball with a defender on her back. She has excellent technique in that aspect and knows how to use her leverage to spin defenders off her and turn toward goal. Hoffman has the traits that make a GREAT support striker. I like that she is honing her craft in a winger role, as it is helping her 1v1 skills.
rnWinger
rnCramer has been an absolute joy to watch during her debut high school season. She is putting together masterclass performance after masterclass performance at that level. Her postseason highlight reel will include a number of top-class goals from long-range efforts. She is a dynamic attacking player with a sweet right foot. She plays on the right wing for her club team, but looks to be playing a more central role with her high school.
Highlights
rnMidfielder
rnThe best defensive-minded player in that position in Missouri in this class. She dictates the direction of traffic in the center of the field. She steps into tackles, she intercepts passes, and she competes fiercely for 50/50 balls. She is clean in possession too. KC Athletics plays a more direct style than some other teams in this age group, but Cole still shines when she is on the ball. Top, top player from the defensive midfield role. She has been productive on the offensive side of the game in high school, which suggests enough to scouts that she could be a top No. 8 as well.
Selvy has the characteristics of a goalkeeper who will be an immediate impact player at the next level. She is an excellent shot-stopper with nearly perfect technique on her diving saves. However, I believe that her quality on catching the ball on crosses is her best attribute and the reason why she should be a highly-rated player for her position in this class. She does well in grabbing the ball at the highest point even in traffic. She has secure hands to keep hold of the ball even while battling through the bodies. Selvy is a difference-maker in that role.

Ana Ramirez Ana Ramirez D State MO Taylor might be the most enjoyable player to watch on this list. She is a super skilled outside back who plays with a ton of confidence. She started the GA Talent ID game with a slaloming run through the opposition, which raised some eyebrows and set the tone. She is a weapon at outside back with her attacking skills, but she has the defensive attributes to hang with the top talent in this class.
