Region 6A: Four teams from east and west make the regional tournament. Analysis: Cosby and Kellam are the front runners to earn the two bids to the state tournament.
West: Cosby 4-0-0, James River 3-1-0, Thomas Dale 2-2-0, Manchester 1-4-0, and Franklin County 1-6-0.
East: Kellam 4-0-0, Oscar Smith 2-1-0, Grassfield 2-2-1, Western Branch 3-3-0, Landstown 1-3-0, and Ocean Lakes 0-4-1.
Region 5A: Eight teams qualify for the regional tournament. Analysis: It is currently looking like a three-team race for the top two spots between First Colonial, Cox, and Princess Anne. 2nd tier teams that could make some noise include Salem, Kempsville, Hickory, and Indian River.
First Colonial 3-0-0, Cox 5-0-1, Princess Anne 5-1-0, Salem 5-1-0, Kempsville 2-3-0, Hickory 1-2-2, Indian River 3-2-0, Bayside 1-3-1, Tallwood 1-2-0, and Green Run 0-2-0.
Region 5B: Six teams qualify for regional play with the top two teams receiving a bye to the semi-finals. Analysis: Maury and Nansemond River seem to have the edge right now with Bethel, Menchville, and Gloucester poised to make mid-season runs.
Nansemond River 3-0-1, Maury 3-1-1, Bethel 4-1-0, Menchville 3-4-0, Gloucester 2-2-0, Kecoughtan, 2-3-0, Woodside 2-4-0, Granby 1-3-0, and Norview 0-5-0.
Region 4A: 10 teams make the regional tournament with the top six receiving a bye to the quarterfinals. Analysis: Smithfield, Jamestown, and Great Bridge are looking solid and seem to be the class of the region while Kings Fork and Deep Creek have exceptional records but with results against weaker opponents.
Smithfield 6-0-0, Kings Fork 5-0-0, Deep Creek 4-0-1, Jamestown 5-1-0, Great Bridge 3-1-1, Grafton 4-3-0, Warwick 3-2-0, Manor 3-2-0, Warhill 3-4-0, Churchland 2-4-0, Denbigh, 1-5-0, and Heritage and Hampton both 0-5-0.
Region 3A: Every team makes region play with the top six receiving a bye to the quarterfinals. Analysis: Defending class 3 state champion Lafayette looks like the team to beat while Tabb, New Kent, and York will all battle for the second bid to the state tournament.
Lafayette 7-0-1, New Kent 4-2-0, Tabb 4-2-1, Lakeland 3-2-0, Hopewell 2-2-1, York 2-3-1, I.C. Norcom 1-2-0. Phoebus, Booker T. Washington, and Colonial Heights are all winless.
