Granby currently holds the one seed and controls their own fate with four games remaining. The Comets best results have been a draw versus Maury and wins over York, Nansemond River, and Woodside.
Menchville is just above rival Kecoughtan but has a difficult remaining schedule with matches against Gloucester, Smithfield, Warwick, and Warhill.
Kecoughtan sits in the three spot with five games left in the regular season with four very winnable Peninsula games before a season finale on the road at Cox. If Menchville drops any points the Warriors will be there to grab the all import bye in the regional tournament.
Gloucester should be a lock to make the regional tournament with wins over Phoebus and West Point in the next two weeks. The Dukes also have matches against Menchville and Warwick upcoming which should prepare them well for post-season play.
The bottom five teams in the table are all capable of late season runs to either stay or move into the top six.
Region 4A: The region tournament takes the top 10 teams and starts with play-in games (7 v 10 & 8 v 9) to advance to the quarterfinals. The current top four teams in the table are virtual locks to stay there and be rewarded with home field in the quarterfinals. The middle of the table is close and seedings will change with every result. A win or two should lock up a berth for the bottom of the table teams. Mid table teams will need a strong finish to avoid the play-in games to be rested for the quarterfinals.

Great Bridge has impressed all season while piling up wins versus ranked teams including Princess Anne, Warhill, Smithfield and a draw against First Colonial. The Wildcats still have work to do to grab the number one seed with five southeastern district games on the slate.
Warwick has been the surprise team of the year so far with wins over Lafayette, Grafton, and Kecoughtan. Key remaining game include Gloucester, York, and Menchville.
Jamestown will be a force to be reckoned with come tournament time. All three of their losses have been to top teams (Kellam no. 1 in the 757, Western Albemarle no. 8 in VA, and First Colonial). With six clean sheets and a stout defense the Eagles don’t require a lot of goals to win games. A key match-up versus Smithfield on May 5th will go a long way towards region seedings.
The biggest enigma for me is Smithfield. They Packers have three losses, and I was in attendance for two of them and I assume they were just off nights for the Packers because they have quality results versus Warhill, Grassfield, Warwick, Landstown, and Lafayette. Grafton, Jamestown, and Menchville round out the Packers schedule to prepare for the post-season.
The middle of the 4A table is jammed tight with teams who all have a power ranking near 4.00. Deep Creek, Kings Fork, Grafton, and Warhill will all battle it out for the five through eight seeds.
