Region 6A: All 11 teams qualify for regional play this season, and two teams in the east and one in the west will receive a bye. It currently looks like a two-team race for the state bids with Kellam and Cosby leading the way, but Grassfield and James River Midlothian cannot be overlooked.

Kellam is perfect on the year and are the deepest team I have seen play all year. They have posted seven clean sheets and seven of their nine wins have been over ranked teams in the 757.
Grassfield has only lost to no. 1 Kellam and no. 2 First Colonial and drew versus Cox. Their resume is strong with wins over ranked sides Ocean Lakes, Smithfield, Western Branch, and Nansemond River. Great Bridge and Hickory are still on the slate to close out the regular season.
Oscar Smith has posted seven wins but have yet to beat a ranked team.
Western Branch, Ocean Lakes, and Landstown have posted solid results and are capable of winning first round matches.

Cosby has posted seven shutouts in 11 matches and their only blemish is a 1-1 draw versus James River Midlothian whom they have also defeated 1-0. The Titans will be a tough out in the region tournament.
James River Midlothian has taken down all comers this season with the exception of Cosby. The Rapids are capable of making a deep run in the region and possibly states.

The road to get to the state tournament runs through First Colonial. The Patriots only loss is to no. 1 Kellam and that game was played without key starters in the line up. FC owns wins over Ocean Lakes, Hickory, Grassfield, Jamestown, and Princess Anne.
Princess Anne currently sits in the two spot and their only losses are to no. 7 Smithfield and no. 2 First Colonial. The Cavaliers have impressed this season and look to get over the semifinal hump in region play. Wins over ranked teams include Western Branch, Grafton, Maury, and Cox.
Cox looks to return to the state tournament and has the roster to make it happen. Their one goal loss to Princess Anne is their only defeat along with quality draws versus 6A squads Grassfield and Ocean Lakes. With wins over Norfolk Academy, Great Bridge, Western Branch, and Ocean Lakes, the Falcons have proven they can win over ranked teams.
Salem looks to have their first winning season in memory and have pulled off one of the bigger upsets on the season in their win over no. 14 Tabb.
Mid table teams Hickory, Kempsville, and Indian River are all vying for a top eight spot and an invite to the dance.
