De La Salle Heads to State:

After losing to Fenwick in last seasons super sectional, they held the Friars to a draw back in April. The two teams set up for an exciting super sectional matchup Tuesday evening at De La Salle. Junior midfielder Mia Ortega was the star who shined. She scored the games lone to goals to down Fenwick. In net, Emily Samuels made five saves to hold the clean sheet.

Glenwood Spoils Triad's Three-Peat

In reality, this game wasn't even close. Triad only accumulated three shots on target led by stellar defense from a pair of D1 recruits on Glenwoods back line, Senior Ali Matthews (Western Illinois) and Junior Haden Vleck (Indiana). The offensive attack was led by a performance of the ages from Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='97190' first='Rylann' last='Law']. Scoring all five goals in the contest. Her first goal came from the right side of the field, which she buried into the bottom left corner. She scored again midway through the second half before adding three goals in about a four-minute span. Truly a performance for the ages and now has 41 goals on the season.

Barrington Back to State in Eight Goal Shootout

Barrington faced St. Charles North in their 3A super sectional Tuesday evening. This was their third meeting of the season, with Barrington winning both matchups 2-1 and 1-0. After Laney Stark scored for SCN to open the game, the Fillies went on a 5-1 scoring burst for the next 65 minutes. [player_tooltip player_id='33353' first='Piper' last='Lucier'] started the run with an assist to Kaitlyn Taylor. Later, Sarah Sarnowski scored a pair of goals to reach a total of 24 on the season. North wouldn't quit with a pair of terrific goals late in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough. Barrington won 5-3.

Benet Wins 2A Super sectional in OT Thriller

[player_tooltip player_id='41725' first='Shannon' last='Clark'] had another tremendous game for the Redwings in goal with six saves and a shut out, while Addie Jenetten had a solid game in net for Peoria Notre Dame. The game went into OT scoreless where it was a pair of Benet Freshman who came through. [player_tooltip player_id='22129' first='Ivana' last='Vukas'] played a long cross from the left side to [player_tooltip player_id='102474' first='Annie' last='Fitzgerald'], where she took a touch and buried a shot into the top left corner. This would be all she wrote, as the Red Wings won 1-0.

O'Fallon Heads Back to State in PK Shootout

In the Bloomington super sectional, O'Fallon Squared off against Plainfield North, who previously ended Metea Valley's unbeaten run. It was Plainfield North who controlled the game for most of regulation, holding a 1-0 advantage over the course of 75 minutes. [player_tooltip player_id='22220' first='Tessa' last='Fagerson'] scored off an assist from Mia Davis just after halftime. With four minutes to play, freshman Delaney Nieroda scored from a chip-shot. After Plainfield North missed their first PK, O'Fallon responded with five straight makes to head up state.

Friday Semifinal Schedule at North Central College

2A - Glenwood vs De La Salle: 11:00 am

2A - Benet vs Crystal Lake Central: 1:00 pm

3A - Libertyville vs Barrington: 5:00 pm

3A - Lincoln-Way East vs O'Fallon: 7:00 pm
